Jujutsu Kaisen: How Megumi Can Master His Domain Expansion

The highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258 is scheduled for release on April 29, 2024. The spoilers revealed that the intense battle between Itadori and Sukuna continues, with the latter being forced to activate his domain expansion in response to the damage inflicted by the former.

During this chapter, Itadori revealed a new cursed technique that he acquired through a unique method. He shared his body with Kusakabe and absorbed Death Painting Wombs, leading to swift mastery of the techniques. This was made possible by his strong tolerance for cursed techniques, developed from being possessed by Sukuna.

Megumi was able to unlock new potential after becoming the next vessel of Sukuna during the Culling Game arc. His body had become immune to cursed techniques, allowing Sukuna to utilize every technique to penetrate Megumi’s body. This resulted in Megumi being able to unlock new potential, similar to Itadori, and even achieve a complete domain expansion.

Why Sukuna’s Influence Could Help Megumi Perfect His Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen

Based on the spoilers for chapter 258, the chapter opened with the reveal of how Gojo was able to activate his RCT (reverse-cursed technique) while fighting Sukuna, thanks to his awakened state. The chapter then delved into a flashback of Yuji’s training under his seniors after Sukuna had been expelled from his body.

Choso’s goal was for his brother to master RCT, so he sought advice from his seniors. He then suggested that Yuji consume the remaining death paintings in order to acquire some of the technique. Additionally, Kusakabe facilitated this by switching bodies with the protagonist, allowing his body to become accustomed to RCT.

The chapter then revisits the last battle, during which Sukuna must utilize his incomplete domain expansion, Malevolent Shrine. In an attempt to counter it, Itadori employs Simple Domain, a technique he learned from Kusakabe along with RCT.

Regrettably, his Simple Domain proved insufficient, and Sukuna succeeded in severing one of his arms. Sukuna’s domain eventually faded, but to the sorcerer’s dismay, he unleashed his flame-cursed technique, Fuga. Despite Sukuna’s attack, Yuji persevered and acquired new skills as the vessel of the King of Curses.

Similarly, Fushigoro Megumi, the current vessel of Ryomen Sukuna, could also develop a muscle memory for advanced techniques like the RCT. This is evident as Sukuna has used these techniques inside Yuji’s body, such as during the battle against the Finger holder special grade cursed spirit.

Yuji and Fushigoro Megumi were both teammates and students at Jujutsu High. In chapter 212 of Jujutsu Kaisen, as the sorcerers pursued Tsukimi, who was possessed by Yorozu, Sukuna cunningly utilized his Binding Vow with Itadori to possess his body. With a single touch, he separated his soul from Yuji and transferred it to Megumi, making him his new vessel.

From the very beginning, Megumi had been a proficient sorcerer, known for his powerful cursed technique, the Ten Shadow Technique, which he excelled in during battles. Despite this, Megumi’s domain expansion was the only weakness in his repertoire of techniques.

Megumi’s cursed technique, ‘Chimera Shadow Garden’, allowed him to expand his domain and ensnare his opponent within a barrier. The domain was composed of mud and shikigami, summoned by the cursed sorcerer. However, Megumi was unable to fully complete his domain expansion as he was unable to create a barrier for his domain.

In contrast to Sukuna’s domain expansion, which does not require a barrier, Megumi relies on a barrier to ensure his opponent is struck by his domain’s sure-hit technique. In the Culling Games arc, he strategically led Reggie Star into a secluded area knowing that he could not trap him within his domain without a barrier. This strategy also proved effective against the finger-bearer cursed spirit.

Currently, Fushigoro Megumi has also undergone a significant amount of time with Sukuna, similar to Yuji. If Megumi could be detached from Sukuna, it would allow Yuji to successfully utilize his domain expansion. With enough practice, this advanced technique could become second nature to Yuji, just as it did for Itadori.

The release date and time for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258 is yet to be announced.
