Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Teases Potential Tragic Conclusion

Jujutsu Kaisen manga is expected to uphold its dark themes until the very end, as suggested in Chapter 270.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 serves as the penultimate chapter, hinting at a final mission for Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. This first-year trio has faced numerous challenges since the Shibuya Incident Arc.

Despite Nobara’s unknown status and Yuji’s belief that she was dead, Megumi’s body has been overtaken by the King of Curses. Now that the King of Curses has finally been defeated and the trio is reunited, many are hopeful for a happy conclusion—at least, that’s the assumption.

The title of Chapter 270, “End of a Dream,” suggests a conclusion for the main trio’s story. However, fans might have overlooked this hint due to translation nuances.

A popular JJK translator mentions, “JJK 270 is totally unrelated fun fact but Yumeno is what JP fandom calls Yuuji (yu), Megumi (me), and Nobara (no) as a trio so the ‘End of a Dream’ title in JP also sounds like End of YuMeNo.”

The translator continues, “I’m not heavily leaning on any theories honestly, I’m just here for a good time, but my sentimentality leads me to think of Gojo’s dream to reset the jujutsu world by nurturing future students and sorcerers. It’d be wonderful if this chapter signifies the fulfillment of that dream.”

Unsurprisingly, JJK enthusiasts have their interpretations regarding the title’s meaning. “I see it as the conclusion of Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara’s journey, especially since JJK concludes next week. Do you have a specific theory for the final chapter? Thank you, as always, for the translations,” expresses one fan.

Another fan remarks, “That’s a pretty interesting fact. It’s unclear if it’s referencing a disappointing ending or a dream state. Probably neither since it’s JJK fans being JJK fans, but it seems more like the trio’s conclusion in the next chapter, since that’s where it will end.”

“Just wait until we discover it was merely a dream conjured by Tengen, which would explain why Megumi’s scar randomly disappears and why everyone, except those Yuji witnessed die, is suddenly alive,” speculates another fan.
