Gojo’s battle against Sukuna lived up to the hype it generated, captivating not only the animanga community but also those outside of it. The fight was just as exciting, heart-pumping, and suspenseful as fans could have imagined.
Although the fight between the two most powerful sorcerers was incredibly exciting, there was one other sorcerer who would have been a more suitable match for Gojo – Kenjaku. From a psychological perspective, no one could have been a better opponent, and here’s why.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Potential Epic Battle Between Kenjaku and Gojo in Final Arc
Prior to diving into the storyline, it is crucial to clarify that the path taken by the manga was undeniably fitting. The battle between Gojo and Sukuna was foreshadowed from the start, when Yuji Itadori inquired whether Gojo could defeat the Demon King and received a confident response from the white-haired sorcerer.
Undoubtedly, it was the epic showdown of the century, as a seemingly insignificant event had sparked the beginning of something extraordinary. With both renowned as “The Strongest”, fans were eager to witness a clash between these two competitors. It would be an understatement to say that creator Gege Akutami exceeded the expectations of fans.
Despite this, considering it from a psychological perspective, the fight between Gojo and Kenjaku would have been a more suitable match in Jujutsu Kaisen. This is due to the fact that Kenjaku is arguably the ideal villain in the world of animanga. Every action he takes is carefully planned and flawlessly executed, leaving no room for error.
The Shibuya Incident highlighted exactly why Gojo was the perfect opponent for him in the final arc. His master plan of using Geto’s body to deceive Gojo was executed flawlessly, showcasing his cunning and strategic thinking. Additionally, his knowledge of Gojo and Geto’s relationship, thanks to his technique, proved to be a crucial advantage in the battle.
Despite Gojo’s normally aloof demeanor, Kenjaku’s clever manipulation and reveal of his Six Eyes user abilities seemed to have left him visibly shaken and questioning Kenjaku’s true identity.
Furthermore, as Geto’s body instinctively reached for its own neck to protect Gojo from Kenjaku’s attack, it served as a reminder of their past. While Kenjaku may have seen it as a strategic move, for Gojo it was a poignant moment. Standing before him was his closest and most cherished friend, whom he had mourned and buried, now being manipulated and corrupted.
Final thoughts
Despite the explosive and highly anticipated battle between Gojo and Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen’s final arc, it can be argued that Gojo facing off against Kenjaku would have been an even more fitting and captivating finale for the white-haired sorcerer.
While Geto chose to walk his own path, Gojo could have been the one to save his best friend instead of Yuta. Despite this, Gojo held no ill feelings towards Geto, even in his final moments.
With Kenjaku in charge, Gojo’s victory over him would have been his ultimate act of loyalty to Geto. In a way, it would have been Gojo rescuing him, a feat he was previously unable to accomplish.
