Jujutsu Kaisen: Possibility of Sukuna’s Return to Yuji’s Body for a Fatal Ending

As the Jujutsu Kaisen manga approaches its climax, numerous fans have started to speculate about the outcome of Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna’s story arc. Although the two are currently engaged in a physical battle, they were previously conjoined in one body. This leads to the speculation that Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna may share the same destiny.

The moment Yuji Itadori consumed one of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers marked the start of his journey as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Since then, many powerful figures in the Jujutsu community have sought to eliminate him as the vessel. While Satoru Gojo aided him in surviving the challenges, Ryomen Sukuna continuously tormented him. As a result, it seems fitting for Yuji to play a part in Sukuna’s demise, regardless of the potential repercussions.

A theory from Reddit user u/KazuyaProta, a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, has been gaining attention. The theory suggests that if the Jujutsu Sorcerers successfully remove Ryomen Sukuna from Megumi Fushiguro’s body, there is a possibility that the King of Curses may reappear in Yuji Itadori’s body.

As loyal followers may recall, Ryomen Sukuna was always vigilant in safeguarding Megumi during times of peril. This was because the King of Curses saw potential in the Fushiguro as a potential host for his new vessel, given his lineage, mastery of the Ten Shadows Technique, and possession of Mahoraga.

Therefore, if Ryomen Sukuna were to become separated from his desired vessel, he would need to find a replacement promptly. Considering that Yuji Itadori was his previous vessel, he may select him due to their familiarity. Moreover, Yuji’s acquisition of new techniques has broadened his Jujutsu repertoire, potentially making him the perfect candidate for the protagonist’s new ideal vessel.

According to u/KazuyaProta, if Sukuna returns to Yuji’s body, there is a possibility that manga creator Gege Akutami may choose to have both characters meet their demise together. This is due to the likelihood of Yuji viewing death in battle as honorable, while Sukuna would be left with a bitter taste in his mouth, having been defeated by someone he deemed weak.

Upon encountering this theory, u/BotherResponsible378, a fellow Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiast on Reddit, shared their own thoughts. According to the user, the potential death of Sukuna and Yuji while inhabiting the same body would result in various consequences.

Sukuna will feel tormented by his cause of death, leaving him in a state of distress. On the other hand, Yuji Itadori will carry out his grandfather Wasuke Itadori’s final wish, which was for him not to die alone. Although dying alongside Ryomen Sukuna may seem like a distorted interpretation of Wasuke’s request, it is something that Gege Akutami could potentially explore.

Regrettably, even though the manga is nearing its conclusion, neither the creator nor the publishers have provided a timeline for its release. As a result, fans will have to patiently wait for its unveiling.
