Jujutsu Kaisen: Satoru Gojo’s Greatest Weakness and Strength According to Akutami’s Latest Comments

Despite being renowned as the most powerful sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo was not without flaws. In fact, the anime’s screenwriter had disclosed that his weakness lay in his compassionate nature. It was suggested that his enemies could exploit this vulnerability by manipulating his emotions to gain an advantage over him.

This fact was further displayed during the Shibuya Incident Arc when Gojo, who could have easily emerged victorious against Kenjaku, was instead taken aback to find his deceased friend Suguru Geto physically present. Seizing the chance, Kenjaku imprisoned Gojo in the Prison Realm.

During a recent interview with Gege Akutami, the manga creator further expounded on the topic and disclosed how his weakness was also his greatest strength.

During a recent interview discussing Satoru Gojo, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Gege Akutami was questioned about the character’s strengths and weaknesses.

“Born and raised in high society and recognized as the “Strongest”by both himself and others, he seems to have lived without much inconvenience. What do you think his weakness is?”

“What do you think are Gojo Satoru’s true essential strenghts, beyond his innate abillities and bioligical advantages?”

Upon both instances, the manga creator affirmed that “his personality”was the reason, confirming that Satoru Gojo’s greatest flaw was also his greatest strength.

One might find it puzzling that a character’s most significant flaw could also be their greatest asset. However, this was the case for Gojo, as the anime’s screenwriter had previously disclosed. Despite his tough exterior, Gojo had a soft heart, which made him vulnerable to being influenced and manipulated by those who knew how to exploit his weaknesses.

Undoubtedly, the passing of Suguru Geto greatly affected him, which is why witnessing Kenjaku inhabiting his body in Shibuya left him completely stunned. Likewise, if all of Gojo’s adversaries knew how to exploit his emotional triggers, they could have easily incapacitated him.

Undoubtedly, Satoru Gojo was incredibly gifted from the moment he was born as he was the first sorcerer in the last four hundred years to possess both the Limitless and the Six Eyes, making his personality his greatest advantage.

However, Gojo’s personality was crucial in ensuring that all of his efforts did not go to waste. As fans may recall, Yuta Okkotsu was initially timid and lacked confidence in his abilities. If Gojo had possessed a similar personality in the past, he would not have achieved the level of power he did before his eventual demise. By believing himself to be the strongest and projecting this confidence, Gojo not only intimidated his foes but also instilled a sense of reassurance in his allies that he would emerge victorious.
