Jujutsu Kaisen: Sukuna has finally found a match as Gojo 2.0 stands his ground

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are eagerly anticipating the release of chapter 256 on April 8, 2024. There is speculation among fans that the previous chapter may have hinted at the return of Gojo Satoru, also known as Gojo 2.0. This theory is supported by the introduction of Miguel, Yuta Okkotsu’s trainer, who possesses a powerful cursed technique that was showcased in the battle against the King of Curses. This particular scene was a standout moment in the chapter.

As Miguel’s introduction has him facing off against Sukuna, fans have begun to anticipate great things from him. This is mainly due to Sukuna’s current weakened state, making it a feasible possibility for him to defeat him in this stage of the manga series.

Additionally, Miguel had the support of cursed sorcerers such as Itadori Yuji, Maki Zenin, Choso, and Larue, which greatly increases the likelihood that fans will witness the downfall of the King of Curses in the ongoing manga series.

The opening of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 255 saw the reappearance of certain members of Team Geto, with Miguel and Larue making a grand entrance by rescuing Ui Ui and Kusakabe from Sukuna’s cursed technique. The focus then shifted to a flashback depicting Larue and Yuta’s journey to convince Miguel to join the fight against the King of Curses.

Miguel was unsurprisingly declining all invitations, as he was aware of Sukuna’s high likelihood of defeating Gojo Satoru. This meant that he would inevitably lose to Sukuna, regardless of the circumstances. He further explained that even if Tengen and humanity merged, he would still choose to fight rather than face the powerful King of Curses, as he knew his chances of emerging victorious were slim.

Larue asked Yuta to join him and Miguel in discussing their ultimate goal, which was to crown Geto as the King. However, with Geto already deceased and under Kenjaku’s control, they were powerless to carry out their plan. Therefore, Larue suggested that they honor their King’s spirit by defeating Sukuna and allowing him to rest in peace.

Miguel agreed to the plan, but proposed a few conditions. These conditions included Larue fighting alongside him and only facing the King of Curses after Gojo and Yuta had weakened him. Additionally, he insisted that Sukuna’s domain must first be exhausted. As they returned to the present, both sorcerers launched their attacks on Sukuna and unveiled their cursed techniques.

Sukuna was not impressed by Larue’s cursed technique, “Heart Catch,”which enabled him to ensnare his opponent with an invisible hand. However, Sukuna noted that the damage inflicted on this hand would only be reduced to 1/10th of its original intensity, still affecting Larue.

Nevertheless, Miguel’s cursed technique, known as “Hakuna Laana”(Prayer Song), was finally revealed. This granted Miguel the ability to create a rhythmic flow and strengthen his cursed technique, ultimately enabling him to evade Sukuna’s cursed technique.

Sukuna was in awe of Miguel’s cursed technique and was dealt a fatal blow to his chest. In a surprise attack, Choso attempted to strike the King of Curses from behind. However, Yuji had returned to the battle and was able to join forces with Maki, who had also recovered. Together, they were able to continue the fight against Sukuna.

Despite being outnumbered 5 to 1, Sukuna managed to turn the tide of the battle by using his creativity to land a Black Flash on Larue, effectively restoring his reverse cursed technique. He had learned this technique from Gojo during their previous fight, much like how Mahito had learned to activate his domain expansion for a brief 0.2 seconds from Gojo Satoru. The chapter concluded with Sukuna sporting a victorious grin.

It was revealed during the chapter that Miguel was not aware that Gojo Satoru knew his cursed technique. This could suggest that Miguel used his technique to survive their first battle in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, although he tried to hide it. Despite this, Gojo, known as the strongest sorcerer, was still able to detect it.

This could potentially result in him becoming Gojo 2.0, as he may be the sole survivor of the battle against Gojo Satoru. This could also explain why Gojo chose him as the instructor for Yuta Okkotsu.

In the face of the King of Curses’ relentless attacks, Miguel skillfully avoided every slash, suggesting that Sukuna’s focus in the next chapter may shift to Gojo 2.0. Sukuna would make it a priority to eliminate Miguel quickly in order to protect his own survival. Furthermore, his upcoming battle with Gojo 2.0 may bring back memories of his intense confrontation with Gojo.
