After the disappearance of the very popular Satoru Gojo, the latest developments in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga suggest that another character could well be behind the next twists and turns in the plot. An exorcist who thus opened the way to theories of all kinds.

Having debuted in 2018 in Weekly Shōnen Jump, the famous Shūeisha magazine, Jujutsu Kaisen is clearly one of the most popular manga, with fans around the world having been won over by the work of the now famous Gege Akutami.

A manga which has therefore established itself among the public to become an essential in just a few years, largely thanks to its animated adaptation, produced by the MAPPA studio. An anime which has also been successful, season 2 having been rewarded numerous times at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024.

However, others suggest that this is Akutami’s moment to reveal Kusakabe’s true potential. Because as a reminder, during a flashback that occurred in the same chapter, it was Kusakabe who had been designated by the powerful Satoru Gojo himself as a potential successor to the title of best exorcist after him. A theory shared by an Internet user on Reddit, sparking strong reactions from fans, in particular among certain Gojo fans who do not yet seem ready for another exorcist to rival the famous S-class exorcist.

This is particularly the case of Reddit user EPICNOOB_3170 for example, who declared that it “would devalue Gojo’s death if all the characters who enter the field after his disappearance have potential equal to that of Gojo” . He goes on to explain that in his opinion, “making a niche character suddenly strong just to subvert expectations is stupid.” An opinion shared by superking22, who says he is “tired” by the latest events that have occurred in the work.
