Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Gojo’s Return is Impossible

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Gojo’s Return is Impossible

The entire Jujutsu Kaisen community may be eagerly anticipating Gojo’s return, but it is simply impossible for him to come back. Let’s delve into the reasons why.

Satoru Gojo is credited as one of the main contributors to the immense success of Jujutsu Kaisen. This tall, white-haired, and humorous character is initially portrayed as the strongest in the series, quickly capturing the hearts of fans.

Gojo’s widespread popularity has made him a household name in the world of anime; from posters to figurines and even cosplays, Gojo can be found everywhere. That’s why the news of Gojo’s death in the manga came as such a huge shock to fans.

Despite the impossibility, no one is willing to say goodbye to Gojo. With his immense potential and status as one of the most well-crafted characters in the series, fans are eagerly anticipating his return.

The Unexpected Death of Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen

From the moment he was born into this world, Gojo was known as the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen. His existence tipped the balance of the world, and with the powers of the Six Eyes and Limitless combined, he was seemingly untouchable. However, as we soon discovered, even Gojo had his vulnerabilities.

The Shinjuku Showdown Arc featured the highly anticipated battle between Gojo and Sukuna. Despite being the most thrilling fight of the series thus far, it tragically ended with Gojo’s shocking and gruesome demise at the hands of Sukuna and Mahoraga.

Despite his death being as controversial as his actions in life, Gojo’s passing deeply divided the fandom. One faction believed his death was justified, while the other argued that Sukuna’s victory was only possible through cheating. However, this disagreement did not hinder fans from attempting to bring him back.

There are so many theories about Gojo’s return

Despite his passing, there has been an abundance of speculations about Gojo’s potential comeback. As new chapters continue to be released, devoted fans eagerly anticipate his potential return. Every small detail is scrutinized and believed to be a possible clue to his revival. Even now, months later, the fandom is still abuzz with these theories.

The prevailing belief suggests that Shoko, the sole doctor in the jujutsu world known to possess the Reverse Cursed Technique, would be the one to heal him. She had been a fellow classmate and close companion to both Gojo and Suguru Geto.

Being Gojo’s friend, she was able to heal him until he was revived, which would have been her greatest achievement. This theory gained even more traction when it was uncovered that Ui Ui used his cursed technique to transport Gojo’s body to an unknown location.

Despite the numerous theories circulating within the fandom, it remains certain that Gojo will not be making a return. This is supported by various reasons as well.

Why the Possibility of Gojo’s Return in Jujutsu Kaisen is Slim

Despite the use of Reverse Cursed Technique, Gojo’s return is unlikely due to the severity of his injuries. His body was torn in half and he suffered brain damage and internal bleeding, making it nearly impossible for him to recover. Even with a miracle, his exhausted and injured state would be too much to overcome.

This is not to imply that Sukuna had an easy time.

Additionally, bringing back Gojo would go against the essence of JJK. Unlike other popular series such as My Hero Academia and Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its willingness to kill off characters. This aspect is a defining characteristic of the series.

Despite the deaths of several characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, only Gojo has managed to come back to life. After being killed by Toji, Gojo was able to awaken his true power and use the Reverse Cursed Technique to revive himself in a matter of seconds. However, this feat was only possible because Gojo had fully unlocked his potential. Unfortunately, this time his death was permanent as he had reached his peak strength with no room for further improvement.

Furthermore, Geto cannot be considered as a character who returned because he did not actually come back. Kenjaku simply utilized his deceased body for his own purposes. The only potential case of a character coming back from the dead is Nobara, as her supposed death was deliberately left uncertain. However, there is no certainty of her return either.

Despite being the creator of the character, author Gege Akutami has made it clear that he has a dislike for Gojo and is not kind to him in his writing. However, in this instance, Gojo will not suffer the same fate as he has in the past with Jujutsu Kaisen, as Gege has stated he will not bring him back even if he doesn’t die in a gruesome manner.

Despite the potential desire for Gojo’s return, it is ultimately implausible due to the fact that it would go against the principles of good storytelling. His death was a pivotal and crucial element in allowing the younger generation to take center stage and demonstrate their abilities.

Powerful characters, such as Gojo, who possess the ability to completely alter the course of the story with their sheer strength, add an intriguing element to shonen manga. However, they can also serve as an obstacle for the plot to progress. If another character were to possess the power and opportunity to defeat the main antagonist, the role of the protagonist would become unnecessary.

Despite being the only character in the series who could match Sukuna’s strength, Gojo ultimately had to be defeated by Yuji, the protagonist, in order for Sukuna to fulfill his role as the final antagonist in a shonen manga. This meant sacrificing Gojo’s life and allowing Yuji to take center stage.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Yuji has finally tapped into his full potential and is now unleashing his true power. With Sukuna already having defeated multiple jujutsu sorcerers, Yuji remains the sole fighter capable of taking him down. At this crucial point in his character development, Gojo’s return would only serve as a hindrance.

Despite not making a return, it is understandable why Gojo will not be coming back. In the world of Shonen manga and anime, certain characters are able to leave a lasting impression even with a brief appearance. This holds true for Gojo as well. Although he may have passed away, Gojo will always hold a special place in the hearts of Jujutsu Kaisen fans. Even if other characters may fade from memory, there will always be a strong remembrance of Satoru Gojo.
