Jujutsu Kaisen stopped abruptly just after the fight between Maki and Sukuna, and will not resume immediately: why was chapter 254 delayed?
Gege Akutami’s manga has been entering its final phase for quite a while, with the exorcists uniting to face Sukuna in no man’s land. But it seems that the battle will soon end, due to a lack of still valid participants.
Because if Maki had taken over, it was to better allow the evacuation of Yuta, who was seriously injured, and to give Yuji time to recover from his own injuries. The young woman fascinated the king of plagues by the contradiction she represents, her body being devoid of occult energy. But the great antagonist ended up getting rid of her.
All that remains is Atsuya Kusakabe, presented as the most powerful class 1 exorcist by his peers. Except that the fighter feels very alone and regrets having stayed in the corner: he no longer has a choice, he will have to participate in the battle. But when? Because chapter 254 has been postponed, and will not be released this week: we explain why.
Why Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 254 is late
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 254 will be released on March 24, 2024.
It will not be included in the 16th issue of Weekly Shonen, expected on March 17. As the magazine is not on hiatus, we must look to Gege Akutami’s schedule for an answer.
The author has the habit of taking breaks every three chapters. They allow him to do research to nourish his story and his drawings, or to tackle additional projects, such as the recent cover for volume 26 of Jujutsu Kaisen, putting Gojo in the spotlight – but disappointing some of the fans.
This time however, the author only published two chapters (252 and 253) before taking his break. However, it should be remembered that the mangaka is working hard, between the cover of the last volume, but also the 6th anniversary of Jujutsu Kaisen in Shonen Jump last week, which was also the occasion for a special cover.
Some readers were also worried about his health when they noticed drawings lacking finishes in chapter 252. A fear, however, swept away by chapter 253, which does not present the same imperfections.
Jujutsu Kaisen will therefore return on March 24, and chapter 254 should reveal why Atsuya was designated as so important.
