The highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 was released over the weekend, continuing the thrilling storyline of Satoru Gojo’s apparent comeback to the battlefield. Fans were eagerly waiting to see if this was truly Gojo, as his departure from the series was a contentious issue on its own, even without further context.

Fortunately, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 offers a definite resolution, although it may not be well-received by self-proclaimed Gojo supporters. Nevertheless, this revelation sets the stage for an exhilarating conclusion to the Shinjuku arc and the entire series.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 picks up right where the previous issue left off, showing Sukuna’s surprise as he peers through the smoke and sees what appears to be Satoru Gojo. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that it is not Gojo, as a gust of wind exposes a stitched surgery scar that resembles the one on Geto’s body after being possessed by Kenjaku.

Sukuna’s initial shock quickly turns to amusement as he apologizes and admits to underestimating his opponent. It is then revealed that Yuta Okkotsu has taken control of Gojo’s body, causing a flashback to when Yuta first proposed the idea to his allies. While Maki Zen’in and Kinji Hakari initially object, Kinji eventually concedes that it may be necessary if all other options have been exhausted.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, Panda outlines the plan, which involves Rika consuming Kenjaku and mimicking his Cursed Technique of body switching. This would allow Yuta to enter Gojo’s body and join the battle. Atsuyu Kusakabe proposes that Yuta copy Gojo’s Limitless instead, but Shoko Ieiri reminds them that he cannot use Limitless without the Six Eyes. Furthermore, Yuta is unable to copy the Six Eyes as they are a physical attribute.

After that, Maki notes that Yuta’s ability to use his Copy Cursed Technique is limited to when Rika is fully manifested, with a maximum duration of five minutes. She inquires about the consequences when the time limit runs out, to which Yuta responds that he is unsure. Mei Mei subsequently clarifies the three potential outcomes, which are contingent on the functioning of Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, Yuta is faced with three potential outcomes: dying in Gojo’s body once the five minutes are up, dying at a later time, or gaining the ability to use Gojo’s Limitless technique. The last option also brings into consideration the possibility of Yuta being permanently trapped in Gojo’s body, even if his own body is healed enough for him to return to it.

Yuta agrees that this could be a last resort, stating that he can still use his copy ability freely within his Domain Expansion even if Rika is not fully manifested. He also mentions that he will attempt this approach first. However, if he is unsuccessful, he will take over Gojo’s body. Maki scowls and steps in, reminding him not to speak as though the decision has already been made, as she strongly disagrees with this plan.

Yuta interrupts in chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen, expressing his frustration as he believes their plan is the only course of action. Kusakabe agrees that the plan is solid, but raises the concern of Yuta’s well-being as an individual. Yuta takes issue with the phrase “as a person,”reminding them that they are facing the most powerful sorcerer in history and sacrificing their humanity is necessary for victory.

Maki reaffirms that Yuta’s importance to their group is evident in their concern for him, despite his fear of becoming a monster. Yuta expresses his frustration by mentioning Gojo and how they always rely on him to bear the burden of being a monster. He warns that if Gojo were to die, someone else would have to take his place, and if no one else steps up, he will. This statement seems to strike a chord with the rest of the group.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, Yuta expresses his anger to Gojo and asks him to take over his body if he ends up losing. Gojo nonchalantly responds, stating that he doesn’t care because he has no intention of losing. He then comically mentions that what truly bothers him is Shoko’s lack of objection. Yuta proceeds to inform Gojo about Takako Uro revealing his connection to the Fujiwara clan, which Gojo had previously mentioned to him along with information about Sugawara.

Gojo acknowledges that they are distant relatives before inquiring about the relationship between the Fujiwara and Sugawara clans. Yuta suggests that Uro may have been mistaken, to which Gojo agrees that both of them could be correct. He mentions that Yuta may have been born with even more potential than himself and urges him not to waste it. In a heartfelt teacher-student moment, he reminds Yuta to improve his Cursed Energy control.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, Gojo instructs Yuta and the rest of the group to depart, expressing his reluctance to expose his students to the gruesome scene. He explains that he is uncertain if his actions are justified and would prefer to spare them from witnessing it. However, he reassures them that even if he fails, Gakuganji will take over after he defeats all of the individuals in the adjacent room, who are presumed to be higher-ups.

This seemingly confirms that Gojo is responsible for the deaths of the higher ups, as he emphasizes that with Gakuganji in charge, the chaos that followed Shibuya will not be repeated under any circumstances. Despite Gojo’s insistence that they leave, they refuse, with Yuta pleading for him not to bear the weight of being a monster alone any longer. As Gojo enters the room, he admits that there is no changing the past, as he was abandoned “back then”when he thinks of Suguru Geto.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Domain Clash Part 2 – Chapter 261

In chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo mentions the need to catch up as the flashback progresses to a later time, where Rin Amai showcases his Cursed Technique to Yuji and his companions. He clarifies that he enhances the sugar within his body and materializes it externally in various forms, also mentioning that it causes him to feel dizzy as his blood sugar decreases.

Shoko inquires if he is able to distribute the sugar to others, and Amai responds that he believes he can. She proceeds to assign him as a member of the medical team, along with herself and Akari Nitta. She explains that his role will be to administer sugar to the brain during the activation of Cursed Techniques. She reminds him to use caution and not overexert himself, as it would defeat the purpose if the person he is assisting faints from high blood sugar.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, the story flashes forward to Amai’s shock at the condition of Yuta’s body. Nitta points out that his Technique has prevented Yuta’s injuries from worsening, but he also reveals that he is unable to fully heal Yuta in this state. He further states that even Yuta’s Reverse Cursed Technique is unable to heal him, solidifying the tragic fate of his original body.

Yuta proceeds to clarify that he is able to remain conscious due to Rika’s assistance, but this will only last for a limited time. Despite this, he is determined to continue with his plan. Shoko discloses that Gojo’s body has been sewn back together, but once Yuta takes over, he will have to utilize the Reverse Cursed Technique at its maximum potential to complete the treatment, with Amai’s assistance.

In chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta apologizes to Rika for shifting the ring to his right hand at the end of the flashback. In the present, both Sukuna and Yuta unleash their Domain Expansions, prompting the narrator to ponder on how one can oppose Sukuna’s open-barrier Domain. The answer, as always, lies in Gojo’s hands. The chapter concludes with a fierce confrontation between Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void, and also announces a hiatus for the series in the upcoming week.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261: In Summation

Despite its density, chapter 261 remains one of the most crucial installments in the entire series due to its significant development of Yuta Okkotsu and Satoru Gojo’s characters. While other characters also receive attention in terms of characterization, Yuta and Gojo undeniably stand out in their shining moments throughout the chapter.

In chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen, there is a significant opportunity for Yuji Itadori and his team to finally achieve victory since Gojo’s death. This event could potentially mark the beginning of the manga’s final battle, as Yuta may sacrifice himself to defeat Ryomen Sukuna.
