On May 27, 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen fans can expect the highly anticipated release of chapter 261. This chapter will focus on the return of Yuta Okkotsu as Gojo Satoru, bringing a renewed sense of hope in defeating the King of Curses. However, Okkotsu’s return also casts doubt on Itadori’s previous efforts.
The chapter centered on the flashback in which Okkotsu successfully persuaded everyone to let him transfer his body into Gojo’s after the latter’s death, utilizing Kenjaku’s cursed technique. Subsequently, Gojo consented to this experiment, leading to his revival.
However, while the author may have overlooked the fact that Gojo’s return has shifted attention away from protagonist Itadori, it has also diminished the significance of his diligent efforts. Despite mastering techniques such as Blood Manipulation, Simple Domain, and Reverse-Cursed Technique in a remarkably short period, they pale in comparison to the prowess of Gojo Satoru on the battlefield.

Why Yuta’s Return Has Rendered Yuji’s Efforts Insignificant: Analysis of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261
The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, chapter 261, opened with Sukuna frantically yelling for Yuta Okkotsu upon seeing Gojo Satoru’s body, which had stitches on his head. The focus of the chapter then shifted to a flashback of Gojo Satoru’s release.
In chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen, a flashback showed Okkotsu suggesting a plan to possess Gojo’s body in case he was killed by Sukuna. The plan involved consuming Kenjaku and utilizing his cursed technique. As anticipated, many sorcerers were skeptical of this strategy as it went against their human principles.
Despite Okkotsu’s argument that Gojo should not be solely responsible for everything, as it could turn him into a monster, the chapter also showed Okkotsu visiting Gojo and requesting to possess his body, which Gojo agreed to because he was sure he could defeat Sukuna. The chapter then resumed the battle, with both Gojo and Sukuna initiating their domain expansions.
During the Perfect Preparation arc, Itadori received guidance from his seniors and teachers who taught him how to manipulate cursed energy and various cursed techniques. Among these techniques was Blood Manipulation, which was taught by both Choso and Kamo Noritoshi to the protagonist.
Additionally, thanks to Ui Ui’s cursed technique, Itadori was able to switch bodies with Kusakbe and gain a fundamental understanding of the Reverse-cursed technique. This technique proved imperative in Itadori’s battle against Sukuna and was deemed necessary for him to enter the battlefield. With guidance from Shoko and Choso, Itadori acquired yet another technique to add to his repertoire.
Kusakabe’s expertise in the cursed technique of Simple Domain proved to be a valuable addition to Itadori’s arsenal. With its help, Itadori was able to overpower Sukuna and shift the tide in favor of the sorcerers.
With the arrival of Gojo Satoru, the focus has now shifted entirely to the Honored One. As fans are aware, this is due to Okkotsu’s actions, as he transferred his consciousness into Gojo just before his supposed death. As a result, Itadori’s efforts may now appear insignificant.
Final Thoughts
Despite Sukuna being only slightly weakened after the battle of the strongest, this still gave the remaining sorcerers a fighting chance to go up against the King of Curses without putting their lives in danger.
Likewise, following the intense battle between Itadori and Sukuna, during which Sukuna was hit with numerous Black Flash techniques, he may now be truly weakened. This could potentially lead to Sukuna’s downfall in the upcoming chapters, not just due to Yuta or Gojo, but also as a result of the combined efforts of Itadori and all the other sorcerers involved in the fight.
