Jung Hae-in Opens Up About Emotions When Compared to Yoo Ah-in’s “Drug Scandal”

On the afternoon of September 9, a press screening and media conference for the film “I, the Executioner” took place at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event featured director Ryoo Seung-wan, along with actors Hwang Jung-min and Jung Hae-in.

When asked about the pressure to follow Yoo Ah-in’s character, Jo Tae-oh, from the previous installment (the 2015 film “Veteran”), Jung Hae-in replied, “The structure of evil in this film is different from the last one, so I didn’t feel pressured regarding the character. However, I did have concerns since the previous film was so well-received.”

Discussing his performance and eye expressions, Jung Hae-in stated, “At the beginning, the direction of my gaze was crucial. As a team member joined midway through the film, I worked to embody my teammates’ characteristics. In the latter part, wearing a mask and hat restricted my facial expressions, so I had to reflect deeply on how to express myself in such limited conditions.”

“I, the Executioner” is an action-crime investigation drama where the youngest detective, Park Sun-woo (played by Jung Hae-in), teams up with veteran detective Seo Do-cheol (played by Hwang Jung-min) to track down a serial killer who has created a nationwide uproar. The film is set to be released on September 13.

Currently, Jung Hae-in is gaining attention through the ongoing K-drama “Love Next Door,” while Yoo Ah-in faces a one-year prison sentence for drug-related issues.
