On November 9th, Jung Hae-in made an appearance as a guest on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,”sharing intriguing insights into his journey as an actor. One notable story he shared was about attending the Cannes Film Festival alongside his mother for the screening of “Veteran 2.”
Jung Hae-in mentioned, “I had the opportunity to attend this prestigious event with my family. Hwang Jung-min brought his son along, and I initially planned to go with my mother, but I was hesitant about her joining me. It felt overwhelming.”
The actor candidly discussed his relationship with his mother, admitting, “She takes pride in my achievements and shares them openly, which I find quite uncomfortable. I even asked her to refrain from doing so.” Despite his initial reluctance, Jung Hae-in revealed that his views shifted after conversations with Hwang Jung-min.
Eventually, Jung expressed his desire to attend Cannes with his mother, and after some deliberation, she replied, “Let’s make this trip together.” However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he initially opted out of the trip. Yet, Jung later admitted that his mother’s heartfelt request deeply moved him, leading to their memorable journey to the festival.
Reflecting on this experience, Jung stated, “Taking my mother to Cannes was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I made in 2024. It has become one of the most cherished moments of my career as an actor.” He emphasized, “I now prioritize spending time with my parents more than ever.”
Following the episode, there was a surge of interest from netizens regarding Jung Hae-in’s family background, as searches for information about him rose significantly on various portals. Jung Hae-in’s father, who was born in 1962, operates an ophthalmology clinic in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, while his mother, born in 1960, works as a pathologist. Both parents are graduates of Catholic Medical School, boasting careers in medicine.
