On May 27th, Allure Korea’s official YouTube channel published an interview video titled “How to Achieve Jung Ryeo-won’s Aesthetic!”
During the video, Jung Ryeo-won reflected on her past SNS photos and revealed the stories behind them. She mentioned, “Even as a child, I had naturally wavy hair. However, as I’ve grown older, it tends to get frizzier. Despite what people may think, I have not permed my hair. Instead, I just wash it and use small finger pins to hold it in place while it air dries. This is how I achieve my signature hairstyle.”
During an interview, the actress was asked if she would attempt the popular “jelly perm”hairstyle. She replied, “If I were to vigorously wash and blow-dry my hair, it might end up looking like that.”She went on to explain that when she travels to Australia, the different water causes her hair to become puffy. To avoid any mishaps, she always packs hats when going abroad. She also shared a photo taken by her father, emphasizing the harsh sunlight and the need for a ball cap.
Jung Ryeo-won expressed her preference for practical and versatile clothing that can be worn daily. She finds sets to be the most convenient and comfortable option, especially tracksuits. In fact, she frequently wears them on set, considering them to be her go-to workwear.
When questioned about trying out underwear fashion, the actress confidently responded by saying, “Underwear should always be worn underneath. I suppose that makes me traditional.”
She explained, “Nowadays, I notice my friends pulling off modern fashion trends flawlessly, but I personally prefer to stick to more timeless looks. I might consider experimenting with it for a photoshoot, but I’m hesitant to wear it in my everyday life. It’s just not my style.”
Despite playing various roles throughout her career, Jung Ryeo-won believes that her current character in the ongoing drama “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is the most similar to her personal style. The actress shared, “Out of all the characters I’ve portrayed, this one is the closest to my own fashion sense. I even incorporated some of my own clothes, such as coats and scarves, into the drama’s wardrobe. Additionally, I rotated between some of my own bags to add a personal touch to my character’s style, as she is always seen carrying large bags.”
