Jura and Kawaki: A Mysterious Connection in Boruto Explained by This Theory

Since its debut, the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has unveiled numerous new adversaries, collectively referred to as God Trees. These God Trees are the living embodiment of the trees that are formed when a Claw Grime bites a non-Otsutsuki individual.

In the manga, fans have been introduced to four God Trees, including Jura, Hidari, Matsuri, and an unnamed clone. Although the identities of three characters (Sasuke, Moegi, and Bug) which the God Trees are based on have been revealed, this was not the case for Jura. The series has yet to disclose the person that the Claw Grime bit in order to create him.

As the enigma continued, a fan put forward the theory that Jura could potentially share a concealed bond with Kawaki.

A Boruto Theory Suggests a Secret Connection Between Kawaki and Jura

On Reddit, a Boruto fan with the username u/New-Skill-4981 proposed a theory about a possible hidden link between God Tree Jura and Kawaki. It should be noted that the character whom Jura is inspired by has not yet been revealed in the manga series.

Based on u/New-Skill-4981’s statements, the manga deliberately concealed this information, possibly because it will play a significant role in the plot and potentially surprise Kawaki, given his hidden relationship with the individual.

Currently, there is a connection between the two characters. God Tree Jura has a desire to consume Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, but Kawaki holds strong feelings for him. Therefore, it is inevitable that the manga will depict a confrontation between Jura and Kawaki.

It is highly probable that this advancement will uncover the mysterious bond between the characters. This is further supported by the fact that Kawaki possessed the ability to levitate in the sky, just like Jura. Furthermore, as shown in the manga, both characters were able to utilize Daihakoten.

There is also the unexplained presence of a Rinnegan on the Claw Grime that attacked Kawaki, setting it apart from the others.

Finally, it must be noted that despite the fact that the Claw Grimes had bitten Sasuke Uchiha and Bug much earlier, their sentient God Tree forms did not manifest until the Claw Grimes appeared in the Hidden Leaf Village. This indicates that the presence of the Claw Grimes and its contact with the two Otsutsuki, Boruto and Kawaki, may have been the catalyst for the creation of sentient God Trees.

This possibility implies that the sentient God Trees may have assumed their forms following a direct encounter between one of the Claw Grimes and Kawaki. Therefore, Kawaki could have played an indirect role in the formation of the God Trees’ leader, Jura.

Despite the lack of a “secret”connection between Kawaki and Jura, it is highly likely that Jura was modeled after Isshiki Otsutsuki. This could account for Jura’s ability to levitate and utilize Daihakoten, as Kawaki also acquired these techniques through his karma mark from Isshiki Otsutsuki.
