‘Justice for Seunghan’: BRIIZE and Fandoms Collaborate to Boycott SM Entertainment

The fans of BRIIZE have united with other K-pop fandoms to demand justice for Seunghan, who reportedly had to leave RIIZE after suffering severe bullying.

While SM Entertainment justified Seunghan’s exit as a response to demands from OT6 K-BRIIZE, an overwhelming reaction from fans and other fandoms has led to a boycott of the label.

On October 14th, multiple RIIZE fan organizations, both domestically and internationally, declared their intention to boycott SM, insisting they would offer their support only if “RIIZE is 7.”

This boycott entails ignoring, unfollowing, and reducing engagement with RIIZE’s social media and streaming sites. Additionally, fans will refrain from purchasing the group’s merchandise and tickets for fan gatherings or taking any actions that may promote the group.

Participants emphasized that their goal was not to damage the group, but to demonstrate to the label the strength of international fans’ voices and their importance.

Additionally, fans advocating for OT7 aim to convey to SM that their audience consists not only of Korean fans, but also a global community that holds a deep affection for Seunghan.

Following these events, other K-pop fandoms, regardless of past rivalries, have extended their support to BRIIZE, expressing concern over how labels fail to adequately protect their artists and provide them with the treatment they deserve.

Previously, Seunghan, who wrote a farewell note to his fans, was seen standing alone in front of SM while looking at the condolences sent to him.
