V/H/S Beyond marks the latest chapter in the acclaimed horror franchise, featuring a particularly striking segment that draws inspiration from one of Kevin Smith’s most disturbing films.
This seventh entry in the V/H/S series is a collection of chilling horror anthologies that showcases segments from some of the most prominent names in the genre.
Featuring ‘Live and Let Dive,’ a thrilling sky-diving segment directed by Justin Martinez.
However, the most disturbing segment is undoubtedly ‘Fur Babies,’ directed by Justin Long, known for his role in Barbarian, along with his brother Christian.

The plot follows a duo of animal rights activists who infiltrate a taxidermist’s residence under false pretenses, only to uncover and endure her horrifying experiments in the basement.
After the screening, Christian was inquired whether Justin drew inspiration from his experience working on Tusk, a Kevin Smith film in which a character is sown into a walrus skin.
“I can’t speak for him, but I believe he was significantly inspired by it,” Christian remarked. “The memory of that experience, being in that suit and the makeup—it’s likely left a positive mark on him. So, yes, I think that definitely inspired him.”

Christian further suggested that Tusk could be a pivotal influence behind ‘Fur Babies,’ stating: “I was never inside the [Tusk] suit. I saw the movie. But if he were here, I believe he’d affirm that it probably motivated him more than anything else.”
