JYP Artists’ Generous Donations Total 2 Billion, Led by Park Jin-young

J.Y. Park, also known as Park Jin-young, is the CEO and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of JYP. Through their artists such as TWICE, Stray Kids, and ITZY, JYP has been actively extending support to those in need both domestically and internationally. They have shown their appreciation by giving back to various organizations and have even been recognized as honorary members of esteemed donor groups, leading the way in promoting the value of sharing.

In the last two years, Park Jin-young has donated a combined amount of 2 billion won (equivalent to approximately 1.5 million USD). This included 500 million won to both World Vision and Samsung Medical Center in 2022, as well as 200 million won each to five local hospitals in Korea, including Samsung Medical Center, in 2023.

At the end of 2023, Park Jin-young expressed his thoughts on donations, stating that as a father of two daughters aged three and four, he understands the struggles of families who cannot afford medical treatment. He hopes to help alleviate their burden by directly supporting sick children through providing funds to hospitals.

Stray Kids, a popular global group, has been actively promoting kindness and positivity both within their home country and internationally, building a strong connection with their fans. In February 2023, member Felix generously donated 50 million won to World Vision. Since 2020, he has consistently sponsored and provided lunchboxes to help vulnerable communities in urban areas. His efforts have been recognized, as he became the youngest member of the Honor Club in 2024 for his donation of over 100 million won to UNICEF.

In 2014, Lee Know not only sponsored overseas children through World Vision but also donated 100 million won to the World Vision Global Food Crisis Response Project. He has currently partnered with four children through this organization.

In March 2023, both Changbin and Hyunjin, members of the group, made generous donations to The Promise. On his birthday, Hyunjin donated 100 million won, further solidifying their positive influence on their fans.

Both TWICE’s Nayeon and ITZY’s Ryujin have also received recognition for their impactful charitable donations.

Nayeon generously donated a total of 280 million won in various charitable causes. In 2020, she contributed 50 million won towards preventing the spread of COVID-19 and aiding in damage recovery. Additionally, in 2024, she donated 30 million won to support patients who do not have access to proper medical care. In 2023, Nayeon and her fellow TWICE members joined together to donate 200 million won to assist victims affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Conversely, in 2022, Ryujin contributed 50 million won to both The Promise, an international relief organization, and the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria in 2023.

In addition, it appears that JYP, both as a company and through its individual artists, will continue to participate in a variety of social contribution initiatives in 2024.
