On May 27th, NMIXX performed their song “DICE”at the Shinhan University Water Festival.
Despite a sound accident occurring during the performance, causing the MR to suddenly turn off, the NMIXX members remained calm and continued to sing the rest of the song live, successfully completing their performance.

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding idols’ lip-syncing, poor singing skills, and bad encore stages, NMIXX’s superb live stage was met with numerous compliments and loud cheers from the audience. The girl group’s live performance garnered even more attention due to their exceptional talents.
Despite the unexpected sound accident, it was later revealed that it had been planned all along. According to the student council of Shinhan University, who organized the festival, they had intentionally incorporated the sound accident into NMIXX’s performance.
Following the performance, member Bae took to the fan community Bubble to share, “I was taken aback when the music suddenly cut off. I couldn’t help but show my surprise through my expressions, but my body kept moving naturally and I continued singing.”In response, the student council clarified, “As soon as the music stopped, the audience in the synergy zone all turned their attention towards us, wondering if we had made a mistake.”
Despite already being recognized as a talented group, NMIXX faced disappointment from netizens who were disappointed by the performance accident. It was particularly careless for NMIXX to plan such an event, especially when other fellow idols were facing criticism for similar performance issues.
Conversely, others argue that live stages are superior to AR performances (using pre-recorded vocals). Furthermore, there are criticisms directed at the student council for revealing the incident and calling for NMIXX’s agency to clarify and take accountability for the staged audio mishap.
A few individuals remarked that the group’s live performance was superior to other groups who rely on AR and lip-syncing. This served as proof of the group’s live singing abilities. Hasn’t the group always been talented since their debut? Is it necessary for them to showcase their singing skills in this manner? Did the company intend to compare NMIXX to other idols? Why did the student council divulge the details of the planned performance? Perhaps the members were unaware of the plan. It seems likely that the agency instructed the school to do so, among other things.
NMIXX is a six-member girl group managed by JYP Entertainment. In January, they unveiled their second mini album titled “Fe3O4: BREAK”.
