The company elaborated that in May, KG had departed from the group’s housing and indicated her desire for discussions through her legal counsel. Consequently, JYP USA suspended VCHA’s activities temporarily and sought various alternative solutions via negotiations. However, they noted that a response from KG’s representatives had not been forthcoming, leaving their legal team awaiting further communication.
JYP USA expressed their disappointment, stating, “KG has publicly revealed false and exaggerated claims and opted to pursue legal action. This is extremely regrettable and has considerably harmed the other VCHA members, who are diligently preparing for an album release in early 2025, and our company. We are committed to taking all necessary steps to safeguard JYP and VCHA from any further damage related to this issue.”
In a statement made on December 8, KG described her distressing decision: “On December 7, I filed a lawsuit to terminate my contract with JYP Entertainment and exit the group. I cannot endorse an environment where a member has resorted to extreme measures, battling an eating disorder that incited self-harm. My resolve has been clear since May, and I am now concerned for the remaining members. They face intensely demanding work schedules, have stringent limitations on their personal lives, and are burdened with substantial debts to the company with minimal compensation.”
Overview of VCHA
VCHA is an American girl group consisting of six members: KG, Lexi, Camilla, Kendall, Savanna, and Kaylee. Formed through A2K, a survival audition produced jointly by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, VCHA debuted in January to considerable hype. They successfully meld the rigorous K-pop training methodology with the diverse talents of American members, earning accolades for their performance abilities, visual appeal, and high-quality content, effectively reinforcing JYP’s strategy for global expansion.
Nonetheless, VCHA has encountered obstacles; Kaylee ceased activities in March due to health concerns, and now KG’s recent departure poses further challenges for the group’s stability.

To our community,
This is JYP USA. We wish to publicly address the recent lawsuit initiated by Kiera Grace Madder (KG) along with her assertions made via social media.
In May, KG left the group residence and engaged her legal representatives to instigate potential discussions. In response, we voluntarily paused VCHA’s activities and initiated thorough dialogues with her representatives to identify possible resolutions. However, we have since been unable to elicit a response from KG’s team, leaving our legal representatives in limbo.
We express our deep sorrow regarding KG’s choice to pursue legal action and disseminate unilateral public statements that contain inaccurate and inflated allegations. This has adversely impacted the other VCHA members and JYP USA as they work diligently on their upcoming projects and album for early 2025.
Rest assured, JYP USA will implement all necessary measures to mitigate any additional harm to the remaining members of VCHA and our company arising from this situation.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
JYP USA
