The upcoming solo concert of Chanyeol, titled ‘2024 CHANYEOL LIVE TOUR: City-scape in SEOUL,’ is scheduled to take place at Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on September 6 and 7.
The pre-sale for fan club members took place on the Interpark Ticket’s official website on the 7th, followed by the start of public ticket sales on the next day.
Despite being on sale for about a week, tickets still remain available and have not yet sold out.
As of 9 AM on the 14th, there were 1 VIP seat and 464 regular seats still remaining for the September 6 concert, as well as 360 regular seats for the September 7 concert.
In the past, D.O. and Baekhyun of EXO successfully sold out their concerts and also had encore shows in Seoul, garnering a lot of adoration from their fans.
In April, EXO also triumphantly hosted a fan meeting for all members, titled ‘2024 EXO FAN MEETING: ONE – Incheon.’
Despite being a highly successful third-generation boy group, EXO continues to maintain their popularity. Therefore, the news of Chanyeol’s concert not selling out has garnered significant attention from K-pop fans.
In 2021, a controversy arose surrounding Chanyeol’s private life when a netizen, claiming to be his ex-girlfriend, posted on an online community.
During their three-year relationship, this individual alleged that Chanyeol had been unfaithful with approximately 10 women, ranging from girl group members and YouTubers to dancers, BJs, and flight attendants.
During that time, SM Entertainment, his agency, refrained from making any official statements. However, Chanyeol eventually took to posting an apology, stating, “I would like to express my sincerest apologies for causing worry.”
Chanyeol addressed the controversy, expressing his regret by stating, “I apologize for my inability to articulate my thoughts during that time. It was a period where I reflected deeply on EXO-L (fandom name).”
He expressed his endless contemplation on ways to safeguard and show gratitude towards the valuable hearts of EXO-L, and he constantly reminded himself to alleviate any concerns they may have. He promised to put forth his utmost effort in order to demonstrate that their trust was well-placed.
In response to this incident, SM Entertainment has announced that they are taking legal action against those who have spread false information about Chanyeol. The company also stated that the police have identified the individuals responsible and have forwarded their case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
Chanyeol’s concert at Blue Square Mastercard Hall has a maximum capacity of approximately 2,800 people. The first floor can accommodate 2,400 people if there are standing seats, while the second floor has a total of 381 seats, including 371 for audience members and 10 for wheelchair users.
Given that the performances will take place over a span of two days, it appears that approximately 5,600 individuals will have the opportunity to attend this event.
In the past few weeks, Blue Square Mastercard Hall has hosted concerts by Urban Zakapa and singer Younha, and the upcoming fan meeting for STAYC is also scheduled to take place there. Prior to his solo concert, Chanyeol is gearing up for the release of his first mini album ‘Black Out’ on the 28th and will kick off his promotions.
In addition, Chanyeol’s tour will begin in Seoul and extend to 10 different cities in Asia, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.
There is a lot of curiosity surrounding whether Chanyeol will be able to win back the hearts of fans through this activity.
Several K-netizens, who have profile pictures of other EXO members, have shared this article and left their comments:
- “Does SM hate Chanyeol so much that they’re giving him a solo concert just to embarrass him?”
- Attaches video of Chanyeol pretending to play the piano “If this concert were labeled as a one-handed fake piano concert, it would have been sold out already.”
- “Is this a concert or a talk show about dating 10 people at once?”
- “Ridiculous. This guy can’t sing, dance, or play any instruments, yet he’s thinking of holding a solo concert. It’s probably going to be a talk show about the 10 women he’s dated.”
- “If you’re going to hold a solo concert, you should at least have some talent, right? The group’s fame won’t save him.”
- “So embarrassing it’s uncomfortable.”
- “So confident”
