K-netizens React to Fan’s Claim of NewJeans Plagiarism

A user on Nate Pann caught the eye of many by posting a photo and a screenshot from CEO Min Hee-jin’s Instagram Story. The caption read, “LE SSERAFIM had the American flag meme first. So, following the same logic as NewJeans fans and Min Hee-jin, can we also say that NewJeans copied it?”. The user also asked, “Why did Min Hee-jin even share a picture like that?”

The Instagram Story screenshot of Min Hee-jin displayed an American flag featuring a NewJeans member. The netizen who brought up this issue alleged that the flag meme was copied from a design previously used by LE SSERAFIM fans.

As a reply, additional netizens left comments:

– This article highlights the young age of LE SSERAFIM fans, as they seem to have difficulty distinguishing between original posts and regrams. Many believe that Min Hee-jin personally designed the flag and shared it on her Story. It would be best for these fans to remain quiet and respectful until they reach a more mature age.

– What? You mean you’re not familiar with the term “regram”? A fan from overseas created the flag and Min Hee-jin reposted it on her account… How old are you?

It appears that the LE SSERAFIM fan is around 50 years old. They seem to lack knowledge on the topic they are discussing. What surprises me even more is their unfamiliarity with the term regram.

“What do you mean Min Hee-jin didn’t make it? Are you saying it was made by a fan?”

– Is it not a Reddit meme? What is the reason for blaming NewJeans?

– When I am the one doing it, I refer to it as a reference. However, if it is done by someone else, it is considered a copy.
