Upon receiving Hyolyn’s reply to the question of who will be the next “Summer Queen,”K-Netz shared their reactions on an online forum.
In the latest installment of Jonathan’s YouTube series, “The KStar Next Door 4,”which was released on August 13th, soloist Hyolyn made a special appearance as a guest.
She celebrated the release of her latest single, “Wait,”on the 12th by promoting it on various music platforms. The track quickly solidified her title as the OG “Summer Queen”as it reached the top of both domestic and international charts.
It reached the top of the iTunes K-pop charts in Spain, France, and Germany, and also topped the iTunes Dance chart in Thailand. Additionally, it sparked the “Wait”dance challenge on various media platforms like TikTok.
During the broadcast, MC Nathan and Hyolyn also acknowledged SISTAR’s reputation as K-pop’s “Summer Queen”for their ability to produce chart-topping hits during the season, including “Touch My Body,””Ma Boy,”and “SHAKE IT.”
Afterwards, Nathan further explored the title and inquired:
“Recently, a lot of younger singers are after your ‘Summer Queen’ title.”
Although Hyolyn agreed, she also commended her juniors’ abilities, specifically highlighting KISS OF LIFE and stating:
“I’ve seen KISS OF LIFE singing ‘Touch My Body’ on this show. I found them cute and lovely. I’m happy that people still sing it. I was proud of myself.”
Upon hearing this, the MC from Congo posed the essential question, stating:
“In your opinion, anyone who deserves to succeed your throne?”
After pausing for a moment, Hyolyn gave an honest response:
“I have to be truthful and express my thoughts. SISTAR is irreplaceable.”
After the broadcast, Hyolyn’s thoughts about there being no successor to her group as the “Summer Queen”were shared on theqoo by an OP, making her and SISTAR the talk of the town.
Currently, the post has accumulated more than 70,000 views and approximately 400 comments from K-Netz, all expressing agreement with her and praising her confidence in their group.

Despite this, there were also those who expressed their disappointment that SISTAR has yet to reunite and playfully poked fun at the group by jokingly questioning their identity and urging them to make a comeback soon in order to reintroduce the four members.
