Korean netizens are increasingly worried about the well-being of LE SSERAFIM’s youngest member Hong Eunchae as she continues to face a rising amount of hate.
On June 1, a post titled “Hong Eunchae must be facing difficulties”was shared on Instiz, a popular online community forum in South Korea.
The original poster mentioned in their post that among all the members of LE SSERAFIM, they are currently receiving the most hate comments. This is made worse by the fact that they have the most schedules while the others seem to be taking a break.
In addition to hosting MBC’s music program “Music Bank,”Hong Eunchae also has her own YouTube show, “Eunchae’s Star Diary.”Korean netizens have taken note of the fact that the 17-year-old receives a constant stream of hate comments with every new upload.
Despite their Coachella performances, LE SSERAFIM has faced criticism for their overall live vocal abilities, particularly during their “EASY”encore stages. The negativity towards their vocals has only grown stronger.
Despite the fact that all members of LE SSERAFIM were reading comments during a Weverse livestream in March, it was Hong Eunchae who faced the most criticism. During the stream, fans expressed their struggles with school burnout, and while the other members offered words of comfort, Hong Eunchae responded with a sarcastic remark, saying, “You’re all attending school, right? It must be tough.”

In a subsequent broadcast in September 2022, she expressed her confusion about the necessity of attending school. Her remarks were met with criticism as people felt she was demeaning students. However, it is now being argued that the backlash against the idol has become excessive.
It was observed that it must be challenging for her to persist with her work, given the constant criticism she receives from numerous people. They assert that she is the primary target of this generation, as her actions on her show and on “Music Bank”are relentlessly scrutinized by her detractors.
Despite the call for an apology, the majority do not believe she should be subjected to such intense hatred. They are grateful that HYBE is safeguarding Hong Eunchae from the spiteful remarks and are hopeful that she will be granted the opportunity to take a break soon.
