K-pop Group (G)I-DLE Donates 50 Million Won to Korean Red Cross After Unauthorized Use of Emblem

On July 29th, President Kim Chul-soo of the Korean Red Cross announced that each member of (G)I-DLE, including Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua, donated 10 million won for a total of 50 million won to support the recovery efforts for the recent floods.

This contribution was given by (G)I-DLE as they acknowledged the importance of the Red Cross symbol utilized for protecting lives in accordance with the Geneva Convention. The group also chose to aid in flood relief and recovery efforts after the occurrence of unprecedented heavy rainfall in the past 200 years.

All the members of (G)I-DLE conveyed their hope that the Red Cross’s humanitarian efforts would bring solace to those affected by the floods and aid in their prompt recovery to their normal routines.

Kim Chul-soo, President of the Korean Red Cross, expressed confidence that (G)I-DLE’s support will provide comfort and motivation for the flood victims. As a reputable organization responsible for disaster management and relief efforts, the Korean Red Cross promises to give their utmost effort in aiding the recovery from the floods.

In the past 22 days since July 8th, the Korean Red Cross has tirelessly worked towards providing emergency relief and recovery efforts in regions throughout the country that have been heavily impacted by the ongoing heavy rainfall. More than 2,600 dedicated staff and volunteers have been involved in these efforts.

The Korean Red Cross, established in 1905, has been at the forefront of providing aid to disaster sites, both within its own country and around the world. For 119 years, it has dedicated itself to conducting relief and recovery efforts in order to alleviate human suffering.
