On July 29, 2024, in a heartening act of solidarity and support, all five members of the beloved K-pop group (G)I-DLE joined together to donate a total of 800,000$ towards flood recovery efforts in South Korea.
Today, the Korean Red Cross made a significant announcement, emphasizing their dedication to providing humanitarian aid in response to the destructive flooding that has ravaged various areas of the country.
All five members – Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua – donated 10 million won each.
This generous donation is in response to the disastrous heavy rains that have impacted South Korea, making it the most severe flood in 200 years.
The funds will be directed towards flood relief and recovery efforts by the Korean Red Cross, under the guidance of President Kim Chul-soo. The organization remains committed to fulfilling its mission of offering crucial aid and assistance to the impacted communities.
(G)I-DLE conveyed in their statement their desire for the donation to provide solace and aid in a speedy recovery for those affected by the flood.
