Kagurabachi Chapter 34: Chihiro Joins Shiba to Face Hakuri’s Twin Brother

Chapter 34 of Kagurabachi was released in the 26th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 12 am JST. The chapter featured Chihiro Rokuhira teaming up with Shiba to battle against Tenri, the twin brother of Hakuri. Meanwhile, Hakuri himself prepared for a rematch with his older brother, Soya Sazanami.

The previous installment of Kagurabachi delved into the consequences of Shiba’s clash with the Sazanami’s elite army, the Tou. Despite this, the youngest Tou member, Tenri, was able to harness incredible strength thanks to Genichi Sojo’s “legacy,”allowing him to preserve his family’s tradition of the Rakuzaichi auction.

Kagurabachi Chapter 34 Highlights: Hakuri’s Sacrifice for Chihiro’s Mission

The 34th chapter of Kagurabachi, entitled “Duty,”begins with a flashback to when Hakuri Sazanami was just eight years old. He joins his father Kyora and brothers Soya and Tenri as they visit the Sazanami family cemetery to pay their respects to his late grandfather.

Kyora Sazanami performs the necessary funeral ceremonies and takes on the role of clan leader, as is tradition. In chapter 34 of Kagurabachi, it is revealed that approximately two centuries prior, the original Sazanami clan leader established the “storehouse”space.

After receiving the power from the former Sazanami leader, Kyora informs his children that in the future, he will pass it down to one of them. Hakuri inquires about the accompanying special mask. Kyora explains that it serves as the emblem of the storehouse’s protector.

Typically, sorcery cannot be inherited by humans; however, the Sazanami family possesses a unique bond that allows them to pass it down. This bond transcends their blood ties, as seen when Kyora Sazanami embraces his children and reassures them that they will always be connected.

Afterwards, in Kagurabachi chapter 34, the story shifts back to the present where Soya Sazanami resolves to end his younger brother Hakuri’s life. However, Hakuri insists that Chihiro Rokuhira continue with their initial plan and reconcile with Shiba.

Chihiro decides to let Hakuri handle the battle against Soya, as he wants to finally settle the score with him. He also ponders if Hakuri has made progress in his sorcery. Nevertheless, Chihiro heads towards the cemetery.

Chihiro and Shiba team up against Tenri Sazanami

In Kagurabachi chapter 34, the focus shifts to the battle between Shiba and Tenri. The youngest Tou showcases his recently acquired abilities, thanks to Genichi Sojo’s groundbreaking invention. Empowered by his newfound strength, Tenri is able to match Shiba’s teleportation sorcery.

Chihiro’s mentor becomes aware of Tenri’s rapid surge in speed and strength. Simultaneously, Kyora Sazanami unleashes a barrage of blades from the vault, which his son then launches towards Shiba.

Despite the limited number of times she can use her Yui (Ice) ability, Chihiro Rokuhira’s timely arrival allows her to freeze the weapons with the help of her Cloud Gouger. In Kagurabachi chapter 34, it is revealed that Chihiro can only perform a full-on Mei 1.7 two more times. The sorcerer then inquires Shiba about the source of Tenri’s ability to wield an Enchanted Blade.

Upon asking, Chihiro’s mentor confirms that the sorcerer has obtained a stone. Chihiro soon recognizes it to be Datenseki, the crucial element for crafting an Enchanted Blade. The words of the Hishaku’s leader regarding aiding the Sazanamis come back to him.

Furthermore, he recalls the time when Genichi Sojo was dedicating himself to finding a method to duplicate an Enchanted Blade using Datenseki’s abilities. Despite being consumed by thoughts of the potential outcomes, Chihiro is aware that only an Enchanted Blade has the capability to wield and manipulate a Datenseki.

If not addressed, this could result in the user’s demise. In Kagurabachi chapter 34, Chihiro Rokuhira asks Hakuri’s twin brother if he is aware of the potential side effects of the stone.

It is interesting that the boy is aware of it, and despite knowing the potential consequences, he is determined to fulfill his duty. This realization leads Chihiro to understand that Tenri is not like Hakuri.

In the event that it is already too late for the sorcerer, he desires to face him directly and grant him a dignified death. Meanwhile, Hakuri Sazanami confronts his brother. The battle between the two brothers commences with their simultaneous chanting of Isou in the conclusion of Kagurabachi chapter 34.
