Kagurabachi Chapter 34 Recap

In chapter 34 of Kagurabachi, titled “Duty,”the focus shifts to Hakuri’s childhood and explores events from when he was just eight years old. The reader witnesses his grief as he mourns the loss of his grandfather, the former leader of the Sazanami clan. His father, Kyora Sazanami, and his two brothers, Soya and Tenri, are also present during this difficult time.

Upon completing his father’s final rites, Kyora Sazanami inherits the sacred power of his clan, a tradition passed down from one clan leader to the next. He informs his children that one of them will carry on this power in his absence.

It is discovered that typically, sorcery powers cannot be inherited. However, the unbreakable bond of the Sazanami clan, which transcends even blood ties, defies this norm. Kyora then embraces his children and reassures them that their bond will always remain steadfast.

Currently, the chapter introduces a captivating contrast to the flashback as Soya Sazanami makes a promise to end his younger brother Hakuri’s life. Despite Chihiro’s presence, the boy insists on facing his brother alone.

Despite Hakuri’s surprising determination, Chihiro decides to listen to him. The focus then shifts to the battle between Shiba and Tenri. With powers now matching those of an Enchanted Blade, Tenri is able to match Shiba’s teleportation sorcery.

During the battle, Kyora Sazanami uses the vault’s powers to send several weapons to Tenri, who then hurls them towards Shiba. Just as this happens, Chihiro joins the fight and uses Yui (Ice) to freeze the weapons before they can reach Shiba.

Upon observing Tenri, Chihiro questions Shiba about how the boy acquired his Enchanted Blade-like abilities. Shiba, Chihiro’s mentor, explains that the boy’s powers greatly increased after touching a stone. It dawns on Chihiro, the Cloud-Gouger wielder, that it was the Datenseki that granted Tenri his powers.

Chihiro is well aware of the dangers posed by Datenseki if not controlled by an Enchanted Blade.

Despite this, he still turns to Hakuri’s twin brother and inquires about the potential side effects. Surprisingly, the boy is well-informed and knowledgeable about the matter. Yet, he remains determined to fulfill his responsibility of safeguarding the auction.

Chihiro comes to the realization that if the boy’s fate is already sealed, he will not hesitate to grant him a dignified death. Meanwhile, Hakuri and Soya make their preparations for the impending battle. The chapter concludes as the two sorcerers begin chanting Isou, signaling the start of their fight.

What to expect in Kagurabachi Chapter 35? (Speculative)

Given the conclusion of the previous chapter, Kagurabachi chapter 35 is likely to focus on the fierce confrontation between Hakuri and his older brother, Soya Sazanami. Freed from his doubts and anxieties, Hakuri is now able to showcase his clan’s renowned technique, Isou.

It will be intriguing to observe if he can match the skills of his older brother, who is regarded as the most formidable member of the family’s elite guard. At the same time, chapter 35 of Kagurabachi could progress with Chihiro and Shiba facing off against Tenri.

The protagonist has firmly decided to confront Tenri, so he is likely to give it his all in their encounter. If the mangaka chooses to do so, chapter 35 of Kagurabachi could also reveal Shiba’s true abilities as a sorcerer.
