Kagurabachi Chapter 36: Hakuri’s Ultimate Showdown Against Soya Sazanami as the Wielder of Storehouse

Kagurabachi chapter 36 was published in the 28th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 12 am JST. In this chapter, Hakuri Sazanami fully awakened his true potential and became the successor to the powers of the First Clan Head. Unfortunately, Tenri suffered a tragic fate as a result of the side effects of the Datenseki.

The preceding chapter revealed Hakuri’s distressing history, in which he was given the responsibility of overseeing a merchant woman. Over time, the boy began to develop feelings for the girl.

Ultimately, the girl came to the realization that there was no hope beyond the confines of the cage. This realization led her to take her own life in front of Hakuri. Additionally, the chapter depicted Hakuri harnessing a newfound power to confront his older brother, Soya Sazanami.

Kagurabachi Chapter 36: Patience’s Awakening

The 36th chapter of Kagurabachi, “Geniuses,”opens with a flashback in which Shiba explains to Hakuri the different stages of becoming a sorcerer. The first step is to summon Spirit Energy through rigorous training and then circulate it throughout one’s body.

The Spirit Energy can only be unleashed as sorcery once a sorcerer has reached a certain point. In Kagurabachi chapter 36, it is shown that an individual’s type of sorcery is predetermined by their birth and is innate. As Hakuri is a member of the Sazanami clan, it can be assumed that his primary ability would be Isou.

Shiba reminds Hakuri in Kagurabachi chapter 36 to concentrate on harnessing his sorcery powers and become more comfortable with the ability. This will allow him to better understand its secrets. Shiba also notes that Hakuri has become adept at manipulating Spirit Energy.

He advises Hakuri to grasp the form and sensation of his Sorcery Powers once he experiences their effects. The story in Kagurabachi chapter 36 then shifts back to the present, with Soya noticing the torture tools from the past scattered on the ground.

Despite being battered and bruised, Hakuri believes that there is another power within him besides the clan’s signature move, Isou. As Soya remembers his father’s words, he feels a chill run down his spine.

Kagurabachi Chapter 36: Hakuri Inheriting the Dual Powers of the First Clan Head

In Kagurabachi chapter 36, the story once again shifts to a flashback where Kyora Sazanami tells Soya that he will be the next inheritor of the Storehouse. In return, he will have to give up his ability to use Isou.

With the exception of a few basic barrier and movement spells, a member of the Sazanami family is limited to mastering only one type of move. However, there are rare exceptions such as the First Clan Head, who possessed the exceptional skill to manipulate both Isou and Storehouse techniques.

Nevertheless, it is uncommon for a member to activate Storeroom, as the act of creating a pocket dimension is out of the ordinary.

Therefore, the Storehouse is considered a sacred power and in order to inherit it, each clan leader must undergo a special ritual. Kyora Sazanami believes that Soya is the ideal candidate to succeed him, rather than Tenri who he thinks will be the most skilled fighter.

At the same time, the leader of the Sazanami clan holds the belief that his son, Hakuri, is a disappointment. Just then, the story shifts back to the present and reveals Hakuri donning the significant mask of the Storehouse user.

Despite Soya’s disbelief, the reappearance of the lost items serves as confirmation of Hakuri’s genius, akin to that of the First Clan Head, as he possesses both the Storehouse and Isou. In a fit of rage, the boy charges at his elder brother and forcefully pushes him against a wall. Despite being gravely injured, Hakuri remains standing, refusing to succumb to his injuries.

As he reflects on the past, the boy remembers the final words that the ice girl spoke. He regrets not responding to her properly and showing her that there was hope outside the cage, as it may have prevented her from taking her own life.

After apologizing to her, he makes a promise to her to prove it immediately. Meanwhile, Soya Sazanami angrily confronts Hakuri, questioning why he won’t just fall and die. Remembering Shiba’s words about his instinctive self-defense, the boy explains to his brother that he won’t fall because he has endured his love (torture) for such a long time.

Moreover, in Kagurabachi chapter 36, it is revealed that Hakuri Sazanami had been unknowingly channeling a majority of his Spirit Energy towards sustaining his Storehouse, as explained in the narrative. This had hindered his ability to effectively utilize Isou.

Despite being fully aware of his potential, Hakuri is finally able to release all of his Spirit Energy into his Isou. In Kagurabachi chapter 36, he channels this energy into his fists to showcase his most powerful Isou yet, in order to defeat Soya Sazanami.

Following the display of Hakuri’s brilliance, the focus of Kagurabachi chapter 36 turns to the showdown between Chihiro and Tenri. Chihiro comes to the realization that he cannot count on Yui or Mei’s half-hearted efforts. As a result, he unleashes a fully empowered Mei, perhaps utilizing the last embers of Cloud Gouger.

Despite Tenri’s best efforts to match Chihiro’s blazing speed, he is ultimately no match for the black lightning. As a result of the side effects of Datenseki, his body explodes, and he apologizes to his father before succumbing to his tragic fate.

In the 36th chapter of Kagurabachi, Hakuri arrives and finds his brother’s body on the ground. At the same time, Chihiro is visibly upset about the situation. Despite this, Hakuri remains composed.

At the conclusion of the chapter, Hakuri remains resolute and proposes to Chihiro that they make their way to the door and put an end to the Rakuzaichi.
