Kagurabachi Chapter 38: Chihiro and Hakuri’s Strategy Against Kyora Speeds Up Shinuchi’s Auction

Chapter 38 of Kagurabachi was published in the 30th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12 am JST. This chapter featured the intense battle between Chihiro Rokuhira and Kyora Sazanami inside the latter’s Storehouse, where the protagonist’s use of Enten, along with Hakuri’s assistance, gave them the upper hand.

Earlier in Kagurabachi, Chihiro, Hakuri, and Shiba made a startling discovery – the emergency door to Kyora Sazanami’s Storehouse had been destroyed. Despite this setback, Hakuri’s strong bond with his father proved to be advantageous as he was able to successfully infiltrate the Storehouse. From there, he sent Chihiro into the vault to retrieve his weapon, Enten, in preparation for their impending battle against Kyora.

Kagurabachi chapter 38: Hakuri’s Revelation to Chihiro about the Storehouse and the Registration

Continuing from the previous chapter, Kagurabachi chapter 38 opens with Chihiro Rokuhira confronting Kyora Sazanami, who has activated Enten’s Nishiki. Shortly after, the chapter takes a step back in time and reveals a flashback in which Hakuri informs Chihiro that the figure on stage is not his real father, but rather a projection of his consciousness.

Kyora Sazanami, the actual person, can be found in the Storehouse, where he is responsible for protecting the goods. In Kagurabachi chapter 38, Hakuri successfully enrolls Chihiro, allowing him to be sent to the Storehouse. In a sudden realization, Hakuri remembers that the Registration process involves the use of basic sorcery.

In simpler terms, counteracting Spirit Energy cannot be overridden. Chihiro’s Spirit Energy is present in Enten, making it able to resist Registration. Even Kyora Sazanami does not have the power to transport it at his own will. Hakuri comes to the realization that he has been granted the ability to transport Enten.

In Kagurabachi’s 38th chapter, it is revealed that Enten is connected to Chihiro through his Cursed Energy. As a result, Chihiro believes that the Blade became registered with him indirectly. Despite this, Chihiro does not want Enten to retrieve the Blade at the moment.

Instead, Hakuri inquires about the fate of Kyora’s Storehouse if they were to eliminate him there. His intuition hints that it wouldn’t be immediately demolished.

Chihiro proposes to Hakuri that given his current abilities, he could potentially take control of the Storehouse in the event of the manager (Kyora Sazanami) passing away. Therefore, he requests that Hakuri arrange for him to be sent to Kyora’s Storehouse so he can take care of Kyora.

The Start of Chihiro’s Battle Against Kyora in Kagurabachi Chapter 38

After a brief flashback, Chapter 38 of Kagurabachi returns to the present as Chihiro Rokuhira showcases his use of Kuro: Shred inside the vault. Kyora demands that Chihiro return the Enten, reminding him of their previous agreement. Chihiro dismisses Kyora’s request and taunts him, suggesting that he had not predicted all of the events that have unfolded.

Kyora responds by stating that although he is willing to acknowledge defeat if he has given his all, he has not yet risked his life to safeguard the auction. He proclaims that he would fight until his last breath for Enten and the Rakuzaichi. As the chapter progresses, Chihiro is depicted charging towards Kyora with his sword in hand.

Despite the Sazanami clan head’s attempt to dodge the attack, he is unable to escape unscathed. He quickly retaliates by skillfully manipulating the terrain to his advantage. Chihiro’s sharp eyes catch sight of hidden Katanas emerging from the terrain.

Kyora believes that the Storehouse provides him with the greatest opportunity to defeat an Enchanted Blade wielder, as every item and aspect of the vault responds to his desires. Surprisingly, Kagurabachi chapter 38 uncovers the fact that Kyora is able to imbue other objects with his magical abilities, not just Katanas.

As Hakuri watches from the outside, Kyora takes advantage of Chihiro’s speed and sends dozens of grenades towards him. However, Chihiro’s expert swordsmanship allows him to easily cut through the grenades, causing Hakuri to realize that evading them solely with his speed would not be enough.

Hakuri comes to the realization that Chihiro has infused his Spirit Energy into the grenades by cutting them with his Enten. This allows him the chance to transport the grenades into the physical world. In Kagurabachi chapter 38, a terrifying scene unfolds as Hakuri brings the grenades into the hall and uses them to eliminate numerous spectators.

Kagurabachi Chapter 38: Chihiro’s Masterplan Baffles Kyora

Despite Chihiro and Hakuri’s unexpected move disrupting Kyora’s plans to a certain degree, he boasts that he (Chihiro) hasn’t even caused a scratch on him. Despite having a larger arsenal, Chihiro seems fatigued.

However, his attention is suddenly drawn to several empty prisons in the Storehouse. It finally dawns on Kyora Sazanami that Chihiro’s group of Goldfish is infused with his Spirit Energy. He realizes that Chihiro used these fish to imbue the merchandise with his Spirit Energy, allowing Hakuri to easily retrieve them.

In Kagurabachi chapter 38, it is revealed that Chihiro’s primary objective was to rescue the prisoners. This greatly angers Kyora. As a result of the commotion, numerous onlookers start to depart from the auction. However, Kyora Sazanami calls out to them, urging them to return.

Kyora Sazanami declares at the end of Kagurabachi chapter 38 that he will proceed with the auction for the Shinuchi blade as originally planned. The head of the Sazanami family holds a grudge against Chihiro and intends to use the auction as a means to seek revenge for his actions.
