Kagurabachi Chapter 40 Recap
Despite being on the verge of death, Kyora Sazanami refuses to accept his fate. He proceeds to display the full extent of his Shinuchi powers, not only defeating Chihiro Rokuhira but also impressing his audience with the item’s abilities.
Feeling a sense of danger, Chihiro Rokuhira swiftly draws his Enten blade and casts a Kuro on the ground, where Kyora is concealed. The narrative then shifts to a flashback, in which Shiba discusses with Chihiro the potential motives of Hishaku in regards to the auction.
The sorcerer suspects that Hishaku may have intentions to allow the Kamunabi to purchase Shinuchi. However, as long as the Enchanted Blades’ original wielders are still alive, the true capabilities of the blade cannot be shown. Therefore, Hishaku may be plotting to eliminate the original user of Shinuchi.
Shiba speculates that should the Kamunabi obtain the blade, it would create a diversion, giving Hishaku the opportunity to eliminate the original wielders and break the Life Contract of the blade. The chapter also uncovers that it was the Kamunabi leaders who were responsible for the placement of the formidable seals on Shinuchi.
However, it is only them who possess the bio-authentication to unlock the seals. Interestingly, Shiba believes there may be an alternative method to open the seals by analyzing the formula. Nevertheless, he estimates that it could take even an expert sorcerer seven to ten years to do so.
After returning to the battlefield, Chihiro Rokuhira is shocked to see that Shinuchi’s box is empty. In the next panel, the focus shifts to the Hishaku leader who is engaged in conversation with another member of his organization.
It was discovered that the enigmatic leader had managed to unlock the formula for releasing Shinuchi’s seals in a mere three years. Despite the fact that the original user was still alive, the leader chose not to demonstrate the method. Instead, he opted to use Kyora as a test subject in order to observe the sword’s capabilities.
As Kyora Sazanami emerges from the ground, wielding the unsheathed Shinuchi, the original user of the blade senses its presence in a different location. Uttering the chant Magatsumi, the user releases a pool of blood under Kyora Sazanami.
Blood gives birth to unknown flowers, beckoning a butterfly to land. Upon contact with Kyora’s hands, the sorcerer’s Spirit Energy materializes into a colossal butterfly. The chapter also suggests that Kyora is inhabited by the original Shinuchi wielder.
Chihiro watches as Shinuchi charges towards him, noting that the weapon can still cut even when unsheathed. However, Kyora seems to be unable to draw the blade from its sheath. As Hakuri becomes increasingly concerned, the chapter concludes with the arrival of Hiyuki Kagari at the scene.
What to expect in Kagurabachi chapter 41? (speculative)
It is expected that Kagurabachi chapter 41 will continue the events from the previous chapter, featuring Kyora Sazanami’s display of Shinuchi’s abilities. Despite only being able to tap into a small portion of its powers, it still manages to send chills down Chihiro’s back.
Despite the presence of Hiyuki Kagari, Hakuri may still enlist her help to assist Chihiro. As a result, viewers can anticipate a united effort between Chihiro and Hiyuki as they face off against Kyora. Additionally, the upcoming Kagurabachi chapter 41 may shed light on the original Shinuchi user.
