Recap of Kagurabachi Chapter 47

The opening of the chapter, titled Uruha, features a monologue from Yoji Uruha. In it, he reflects on how he was entrusted by Kunishige Rokuhira with the Enchanted Blade, Kumeyuri, to aid in the Seitei war. After the war, Uruha willingly returns the blade to Rokuhira and never hears from him again.

After fifteen years, he is devastated upon discovering his death. The Kamunabi elite forces also reveal to him the existence of the seventh Enchanted Blade and Kunishige’s son, but the sorcerer is unable to fathom the idea of the blacksmith having a child.

In the present time, the chapter reveals that Uruha was instructed by one of the Kamunabi sorcerers to escape to the Atago station. The sorcerer informs Yoji Uruha that he will contact Kamunabi HQ to request reinforcements. Eventually, Hakuri is able to find the sorcerer due to his distinct appearance.

Despite his doubts, Uruha remains wary of Hakuri’s ability to defend him against the powerful Hishaku assassins, who possess powers equivalent to Enchanted Blades. As they continue their journey, Hakuri notices that Uruha is carrying a blade and inquires about it. Uruha explains that it is a regular blade he carries for self-defense.

In the chapter, a flashback occurs in which Chihiro reveals to Hakuri that he possesses a unique ability. Chihiro explains that most people are only able to harness a single type of Spirit Energy, and even then, their abilities are limited. However, once an individual enters into an Eternal Contract with an Enchanted Blade, their original sorcery is forfeited.

As a result, the Enchanted Blades’ contractors are vulnerable without the aid of sorcery and their blades. The story then shifts back to the current moment, where a group of Hishaku members have cornered Yoji Uruha and Hakuri. In his attempt to use Isou, the young Sazanami sorcerer collapses.

With no alternative available, Yoji Uruha showcases his exceptional sword skills to eliminate four assassins. Afterward, he and Hakuri board a train and observe a larger group of Hishaku mobs. However, Chihiro Rokuhira, who is already on the train, swiftly defeats the mobs with his powerful Enten.

Chihiro gives Yoji his word that he and Hakuri will continue to protect him. Yoji notices similarities between Chihiro and Kunishige. The chapter concludes with Yoji declaring his determination to fight for the Rokuhira once more.

Yoji Uruha might also inquire about Chihiro’s past, as he has a great admiration for Kunishige.
