Kagurabachi Chapter 51, titled “Samura,”opens with a flashback where Shiba expresses his apologies to Samura for interrupting his practice alongside Chihiro. At the age of 14, the Enten-user is shown honing his sword skills. Samura expresses joy at meeting Rokuhira’s son but laments his inability to see him.

Conversely, Shiba critiques Samura’s decision as hypocritical given his fondness for smoking. Amid their playful banter, Chihiro practices his sword swings, reminiscing about his father’s claim that Samura is the fastest swordsman he has ever encountered. Samura notices Chihiro’s hesitation and demonstrates the proper technique to alleviate his doubts.

The narrative shifts back to the present, depicting the monk guards defending the Senkutsuji temple against the relentless assault from Hishaku’s hired assassins. Despite their efforts, the guards struggle due to the overwhelming number of attackers. Just then, Samura steps in, brandishing his sword.

Meanwhile, Hakuri questions Uruha about Samura’s blindness, suggesting it appears as though the blind swordsman can see. He speculates whether Samura relies on his sense of smell for combat. However, a female Masumi clarifies to Chihiro that Samura can only recognize old friends by their familiar scents.

As the battle rages on, the other Masumi inform everyone of Samura’s active participation in the fight. Hakuri insists that they should assist, but the guards contend that they should not interfere while Samura is engaged in battle. The chapter then returns to Samura, who offers an apology to the divine for desecrating the sanctuary.

He ignites a cigarette and quickly consumes it. The blind swordsman then ruthlessly slashes through the assassins. Kagurabachi Chapter 51 emphasizes the sound of Samura’s attacks. When enemies adapt, he uses echolocation to identify their locations.

During the confrontation, the blind swordsman attacks swiftly, sheathing his sword in response to the reverberations around him, allowing him to gauge the size and positioning of his adversaries. Uruha notes to Hakuri that this is made possible by Samura’s incredibly fast Iai drawing technique.

Kagurabachi Chapter 51 reveals that Uruha learned the Iai technique from Samura but acknowledges he still cannot match his skill. He reflects that had he possessed Samura’s proficiency, not a single soul would have perished at Kokugoku. Meanwhile, the defeated assassins employ Datenseki to enhance their strength.

Regardless, they fail to pose any real threat to Samura’s might, as he swiftly eliminates them. The chapter concludes with the shocking revelation that Samura is the contracted owner of the Enchanted Blade Tobimune.
