Kagurabachi Chapter 51 Recap

The previous chapter opens with a flashback where Shiba takes Chihiro to Samura’s location. It is revealed that Samura blinded himself to eliminate worldly desires that cloud judgment and dull swords. Furthermore, he took on the role of mentor to Chihiro Rokuhira, imparting the skill of striking with conviction.

The narrative then shifts back to the present day at Senkutsuji Temple, where Hishaku’s assassins launch a full-scale assault. The monks defending the temple struggle against the overwhelming numbers of the attackers.

As the battle unfolds, Samura enters the fray. Meanwhile, Hakuri ponders whether Samura utilizes his sense of smell during combat. One of the Masumi points out that the blind swordsman can only use it to identify familiar scents of his old friends.

During the conversation, a Masumi notes that Samura has gone to confront the enemies. Hakuri expresses concern for his safety, but another Masumi reassures him that nothing should be done while Samura is fighting.

The chapter progresses with Samura skillfully dispatching the assassins. It is revealed that he relies on sound for tracking, adjusting his attacks based on the echoes to pinpoint the enemies’ movements.

Samura’s tactical approach involves rapidly drawing and sheathing his sword, utilizing sound reverberations to assess the size and location of his foes. His rapid Iai drawing technique makes this possible.

Uruha also learned this technique from Samura but has not mastered it to the same extent. He acknowledges that had Samura been present at the Kokugoku Sanzo, no one would have perished.

Meanwhile, the defeated assassins attempt to retaliate using Datenseki, but the blind swordsman cuts them down effortlessly. The chapter concludes with the revelation that Samura, the blind swordsman, is indeed the former wielder of the Enchanted Blade Tobimune.

Given the chapter’s suspenseful ending, Kagurabachi chapter 52 is likely to feature Samura facing off against additional foes. There remains the other Hishaku sorcerer who was seen with Hirohiko previously, who may ambush Samura within the temple and provide a formidable challenge to the blind swordsman.

Additionally, the upcoming chapter could redirect its focus to Chihiro Rokuhira and his confrontation with Hirohiko and the Datenseki users, as it has been two chapters since Chihiro participated in any battle.
