Kai Cenat Announces Twitch Comeback Following Basketball ‘Retirement’ to Pursue New Goals

Kai Cenat has announced his upcoming return to Twitch after claiming a brief ‘retirement’ from basketball as a champion of the LBA. He is now setting his sights on a fresh objective.

At the end of September, Kai Cenat surprised his fans by stating he was on the verge of becoming a professional basketball player. Many viewers initially thought this was a setup for an NBA 2K stream, but the reality turned out to be quite different.

While he didn’t make the leap to the NBA, Kai instead joined the Little Basketball Association (LBA), where he excelled against, well, younger opponents. Competing for the New York Skyscrapers, the Twitch sensation secured the championship title in his inaugural season and even received recognition from ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith.

With the season behind him, Kai has now ‘retired’ from basketball to return to Twitch, where he aims to conquer a “new goal”– taking the title from Ironmouse.

“It means a lot, you feel what I am saying? I gave it everything I had. New York Sky #3,” Kai expressed as his jersey was honored in the rafters.

“I came here for my first year and won the championship, and who knows? Jonnie, Jodie, my whole team, I might need you all in the future. You never know when I might come back to the LBA. Until then, I am going to get my a*s back to streaming.”

Following this announcement, the Twitch star tweeted “side mission complete” along with a picture of him holding the LBA championship trophy.

Of course, that trophy resembles a smaller version of the NBA’s Larry O’Brien trophy.

Kai is already planning his streaming comeback, hinting at another subathon to reclaim his record from Ironmouse. He is on a quest for an “underground batcave” and is also collaborating with McDonald’s.

Reclaiming that record from Ironmouse is evidently his new priority, and it’s going to be exciting to see if he can accomplish it.
