Kai Cenat criticized the NYPD, calling them “a gang,”for their actions of holding Fanum at gunpoint and impounding his Lamborghini Urus.
Despite streaming the annual Bronx Dominican Parade on July 28, popular Twitch streamer Fanum was stopped by the New York Police Department for driving his Urus without a license plate. The incident occurred as he was being filmed for his stream.
Despite the AMP star remaining calm, he was still held at gunpoint by the police and had his car confiscated. Although Fanum himself was not arrested, his driver Walton was taken into custody. The police even took pictures with the impounded car.
The entire scenario had already caused anger among fans and Fanum’s colleagues, but it escalated when the photos of police officers posing with his car surfaced online.
As the photos of Fanum circulated, Kai Cenat, another member of AMP, swiftly came to his friend’s defense. In a tweet (https://x.com/KaiCenat/status/1817727207524958526), he boldly stated “NYPD F*CK EM”. But he didn’t stop there.
During his July 29 stream, Kai stated, “You guys never believe me, but the NYPD is basically a gang.”He emphasized, “I’m serious, the way they operate is just like a gang and no one seems to listen to me.”
“What happened to my friend V yesterday was absolutely insane. Even the police in GTA 5 don’t pull this kind of stuff, man. They wouldn’t even do something like this. There are definitely more effective ways to deal with situations,”he commented.

Despite having retrieved his car, Fanum has informed the NYPD of his intentions to take legal action due to the incident. In an Instagram story, he stated, “I have legal proceedings in motion. I have evidence and time. Let’s follow through.”He even referred to the event as a ‘carjacking.’
Other than being evicted from their $30 million apartment in New York, AMP has faced several other troubles during their stay. This forced them to search for alternative housing options after only a few days.
