Kai Cenat Reveals Reasons for Refusing A$AP Rocky’s Christmas Present

Kai Cenat made headlines this Christmas season when he declined gifts from A$AP Rocky, citing his commitment to Nike, a brand he partnered with earlier this year.

On Christmas Eve, Cenat engaged with his impressive 15 million followers during a live Twitch stream, where he eagerly unwrapped various presents sent by fans and friends alike. Among the gifts was a collection of Puma merchandise gifted by the well-known rapper A$AP Rocky. However, to the surprise of many viewers, the streamer was visibly appalled.

“A$AP Rocky! Puma?! Damn, A$AP, I’m Nike! I can’t have no f*cking Puma. Come on! Damn, man!” Cenat exclaimed, clearly taken aback by the brand choice of the gift.

Despite his disappointment with the first Puma package, Cenat continued to open additional gifts from Rocky. “A$AP, I can’t do this, I’m Nike. I’m putting this to the side. I’m checks!” he added, as he pushed the second box of Puma merchandise out of frame.

“The opps… Puma, you really tried. I’m Nike, you really tried that?” Cenat remarked, expressing his disbelief while striking a humorous pose with his hands on his hips. The exchange provided a light-hearted moment for his audience.

Cenat’s Loyalty to Nike Following February Partnership

This year marked a significant milestone for Cenat, as he became the first streamer to ink a deal with a major brand like Nike. “I would like to announce that we are officially a part of the Nike family. This has been a long time waiting,” he told his audience back in February, celebrating his partnership.

As part of this collaboration, Cenat showcased Nike’s Air Max 1 “Low Poly” sneaker during a launch in September, which featured a striking grey and red color scheme and retailed at $150.

Given his association with Nike, it was no surprise that Cenat felt a strong sense of loyalty while receiving gifts from A$AP Rocky, whose product line directly competes with Nike. Viewers found the situation especially entertaining, as Cenat’s initial excitement quickly turned to dismay when faced with the conflicting brands.

Despite the Puma gift debacle, Cenat’s Christmas stream remained uplifting. After the present unwrapping, he welcomed 10-year-old rapper Lil RT to the stream, sharing an inspiring moment. Lil RT has faced personal challenges, as his older brother suffered a gunshot wound in November and has endured numerous medical treatments, including 60 blood transfusions.

In a generous gesture, Cenat pledged $16,000 to assist Lil RT’s family with the exorbitant medical bills. Following this contribution, the family’s GoFundMe fundraising target was adjusted to $40,000, significantly supporting their cause.
