Kai Cenat Supports Ironmouse Amid Controversy Over Twitch Subscriber Record

Kai Cenat has publicly expressed his support for Ironmouse after she faced criticism for exceeding his long-standing Twitch subscriber record. He urged the streaming community to refrain from directing negativity towards the VTuber.

Cenat previously held the remarkable record of 306,261 Twitch subscribers until Ironmouse surpassed him during her subathon stream on September 26, achieving over 311,000 subscribers—an impressive lead of around 5,000.

Despite the overwhelming admiration she has received from much of the streaming community for this milestone, Ironmouse has encountered backlash from certain quarters, notably from some of Cenat’s devoted fans.

On October 5, the AMP streamer went live on Twitch to address the unwarranted backlash Ironmouse has been receiving. He acknowledged that he noticed “the majority of people hating on Ironmouse.”

Cenat recognized that many viewers might initially react by questioning, “What the f**k, this is weird, how the f**k did this even happen?” However, he reminded everyone that “if you guys know your Twitch history,”Ironmouse has consistently ranked among the top five all-time streamers, and that he had to surpass her during his own initial subathon.

“I understand that people are protective, and many defend me and support me,” he remarked. He further pointed out that “if you actually looked at her stream,” you’d notice it was not only well-organized but also aimed at a noble cause and was effectively executed considering it involved AI elements.

The Twitch platform has witnessed numerous streamers vie for the title of most-subscribed, including notable figures like Ninja, Ibai, and Ludwig. Cenat ascended to this title in March 2023 after breaking Ludwig’s record of 283,066 subscribers during his own extensive subathon.

Upon learning that Ironmouse had broken his record, Cenat congratulated her but also reaffirmed his commitment to his fans by stating that if his record was ever surpassed, he would work to reclaim it.
