KARA’s Han Seung-yeon Tearfully Remembers Goo Hara: I Wish for Just One More Day Together

During the June 22nd airing of SBS’s ‘Unanswered Questions,’ Han Seung-yeon revealed, “During a particularly stressful day, we decided to take a trip to a nearby beach. We spent the day playing video games, setting off fireworks, and engaging in other fun activities. We even played baseball and shared a meal together, something we had never done before,” she tearfully reminisced, “It was such a perfect day. I would give anything to have just one more day like that with Hara.”

On January 16, 2013, KARA made history as the first K-pop girl group to grace the stage of Tokyo Dome. Looking back at that momentous day, Han Seung-yeon fondly reminisced, “It was such a thrilling experience and definitely ranks as one of the top three highlights in the lives of all KARA members. We were quite anxious, but our worries were quickly put to rest when the tickets sold out in no time, bringing us immense joy.”

Han Seung-yeon also reminisced about their memories together and shared the nicknames they had for each other. She revealed, “We used to call her ‘Bbaebbong’ because she was so skinny, and I was known as ‘Jjopbbong’ because of my small size. It was just a fun joke between the two of us.”

Despite officially disbanding in 2016 due to the expiration of their exclusive contract, KARA’s former member Goo Hara continued to pursue a solo singing career in Japan. Tragically, on November 24, 2019, she was discovered deceased at her home in Seoul, sending shockwaves through the music industry.

On January 11, 2020, after Hara’s 49th-day memorial service, her brother Goo Ho-in appeared on a broadcast to discuss sorting through her belongings and vacating her residence in Cheongdam-dong on January 13. During this process, he realized that his sister’s personal safe, which had been kept in the back of a closet on the second floor, was no longer there.

Despite not taking any valuable items, the thief specifically targeted Goo Hara’s small safe, which contained her personal cell phone.
