On the November 2nd episode of MBC M’s “Weekly Idol,” the multinational girl group KATSEYE made an exciting appearance as special guests, accompanied by Kamden of AMPERS&ONE as a guest MC. When host Boom inquired about Kamden’s familiarity with the group, he appeared a bit flustered, admitting, “I don’t know them well.” However, his impressive fluency in English and relaxed demeanor quickly shone through once KATSEYE arrived.
The group began their segment with a lively impromptu introduction contest, ultimately declaring Sophia the winner after a showdown against Manon and Yoonchae. Sophia shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I wanted to appear on this program because I found it really fun.”
In a playful twist before the show’s signature random play dance segment, the members jokingly chose Yoonchae as the most likely to make mistakes. Their prediction held true in the first round, which ended in chaos due to missteps by Yoonchae and Manon. During this amusing moment, Boom remarked, “Usually, Korean teams comfort each other, but here, they push and encourage each other,” as the group shouted “Focus!” to motivate one another. KATSEYE impressively showcased not only their own choreography but also routines from popular acts like Blackpink, Le Sserafim, and (G)I-DLE. Following another stumble from Manon, Boom humorously asked, “Is there a buffering issue with Manon in the new album?” Ultimately, the team triumphed in the third round, with Daniela taking the title of MVP.
Sophia was identified as the group’s resident chatterbox. When asked about her talkative nature, her roommate Yoonchae simply remarked, “24 hours,” while Lara added, “She doesn’t sleep.” Defending herself, Sophia said, “I feel suffocated if I don’t talk.”
Additionally, the group recognized Sophia as the noisiest member. When she attempted to showcase her laugh, her bandmates humorously disagreed, saying she “laughs like a dog.” This led to an entertaining segment where the hosts tried to provoke a laugh from Sophia, with Boom finally succeeding after several attempts.
The episode concluded with KATSEYE delivering a vibrant cover of Girls’ Generation’s “Gee,” mashed up with their own song “Touch” in tribute to their role models. Yoonchae took on the role of “pro answerer,” and the members ended the show with an energetic, over-the-top karaoke session including various songs.
