During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there was a major update for Keanu Reeves’ beloved comic book, BRZRKR, and it also announced the addition of highly anticipated staff. At a BRZRKR panel, Reeves was joined by Tomlin, who revealed exciting details about the upcoming live-action film that he is currently writing. Tomlin also confirmed that the script for the Netflix adaptation has been completed and submitted.
Tomlin revealed that he and Reeves will be venturing into the world of animated series as well. He shared his intentions to gather a team and begin production in the upcoming autumn. The live-action film will be based on the first story from the comic book series, followed by an anime spin-off series. Reeves has been confirmed as one of the lead actors in the movie.
Stephen Christy, the president of Boom! Studios, was asked about the animated series by someone in the audience. He responded by saying:
“We all have a very special place in our hearts for the Animatrix. So when we were lucky enough to get an opportunity to collaborate with Netflix on the movie, we just don’t just want to present a movie. We would like to do an adult anime. To have Mattson [Tomlin], who is doing the Terminator as he mentioned…I think we’re oging to have a chance to go to some of the worlds that you see in the comics, the specials…and hopefully it’ll pay tribute to the anime that we love as fans.”
The announcement of the upcoming Terminator Zero anime, along with the studio’s proven track record of past achievements, has given assurance to the decision to begin production of BRZKR’s anime in the fall of 2024. This progress is a comforting indication to fans that the series is being handled with care and is making progress.

While the director for BRZRKR has yet to be announced, it is worth noting that Keanu Reeves has expressed interest in the role for the 2022 release.
About BRZRKR
Studios have announced a live-action film and an animated series for Netflix, both featuring Reeves in the titular role. The projects follow an immortal warrior named B, who fights his way through time to put an end to his eternal life. The announcement was made in 2021.
“The man known only as “B” is half-mortal and half-god,, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.”
The upcoming anime adaptation of BRZRKR, as hinted by Netflix in January 2021, will further explore various plot points within the universe. Fans can expect to hear Keanu Reeves reprising his role and lending his voice to the character in the anime series.
