On May 16th, StarNews released an exclusive report confirming that the girl group Kep1er will undergo a reorganization, resulting in a reduction of members from 9 to 7.
Specifically, Kep1er members Kang Ye-seo and Mashiro will depart from the group to join the girl group LimeLight at their original agency 143 Entertainment. 143 Entertainment is currently the managing agency for the boy group iKON.
Kep1er, a multinational project girl group, was created through the Mnet survival program “Girls Planet 999″which concluded in October 2021. They made their debut in January 2022 and are expected to promote for two and a half years.
As per the original plan, Kep1er’s contract was set to expire in July 2024. However, the CEOs of the member agencies came together to discuss extending the project group’s activities. Ultimately, seven out of nine members were able to successfully renew their contracts. This makes Kep1er the first idol group formed through an audition program to extend their contract.
On June 3rd, Kep1er is set to release their debut full-length album, titled “Kep1going On”.
