All Announced Content for Disney Dreamlight Valley
Included in the forthcoming free updates, the following features will be accessible to all players of the base game.
Sew Delightful Update
One of the most anticipated announcements is the arrival of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, featured in the next major update titled Sew Delightful.
Launching on December 4, the Sew Delightful update will have players collaborating with Jack Skellington to rescue a missing Sally, who will provide clues to guide you in her release.
In addition to her quest and friendship challenges, players can expect new furniture and clothing inspired by Sally’s iconic patchwork style.
Moreover, a teaser for the winter-themed Star Path was presented, highlighting the “Ethereal Sides of the Season,”complete with icy-themed furniture, apparel, and a wand that creates snowflakes around your character—a perfect fit for DreamSnaps.
Roadmap for 2025
While the Sew Delightful update stands as the only known release for 2024, players were presented with an updated roadmap for both free content updates and the upcoming expansion titled Storybook Vale.
The free content roadmap indicates the potential addition of Aladdin and Jasmine in early 2025, followed by the Cheshire Cat in Spring 2025, and the revelation of the Skull Rock mystery in Summer 2025.
The paid expansion will be split into two installments instead of three, like the previous A Rift In Time expansion. The first part will be released on November 20, with the second coming in Summer 2025, featuring characters like Merida, Flynn, Hades, and more.
Introducing Floating Islands
In addition to the thrilling Sew Delightful update, Gameloft has introduced a creative new feature that is sure to excite players.
Floating islands will provide extra, purchasable spaces for expanding biomes in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Initially, there will be four different islands available: Plaza Island, Forest Island, Sunlit Island, and Frosted Island, each costing 15,000 Dreamlight to purchase.
These islands will mirror the size of counterparts in the Valley but will allow unrestricted placement of items, such as homes, furniture, trees, rocks, paths, and beyond.
Additionally, players can share their floating islands with friends through Valley Visits, granting access to these customized spaces for everyone involved.
Enhanced Furniture Rotation Options
Previously, players could only rotate objects in four directions, which imposed limitations when arranging larger items like houses and trees in the Valley. However, with the Sew Delightful update, item rotation will now be possible in up to 16 different orientations.
This enhancement will extend to paths and fences, although those will be implemented in subsequent updates.
All Paid Expansion Content Announced – Storybook Vale
The upcoming Storybook Vale expansion will introduce a host of features available to all players who purchase it:
Storybook Vale Overview
Scheduled for release on November 20, 2024, Storybook Vale marks the next significant expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, functioning similarly to the previous Eternity Isle expansion and necessitating a purchase.
Upon obtaining the expansion, players will explore a brand new land replete with new biomes, characters, quests, and a plethora of additional content.
Set in a realm that was once located above Dreamlight Valley, it descended into chaos when Maleficent and Hades claimed it during the Forgetting. Over time, their partnership deteriorated, leading to unrest and the fracturing of Storybook Vale—now it’s up to players to restore order.
New Characters to Encounter
Players can anticipate four new characters in Storybook Vale:
- Merida (Brave)
- Flynn Rider (Tangled)
- Hades (Hercules)
- Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
Merida, Flynn, and Hades will be available with the expansion’s launch on November 20, while Maleficent will debut later in the second part of the expansion, although players may encounter her earlier.
New Biomes to Explore
As observed in the Eternity Isle expansion, Storybook Vale will also feature new biomes, introducing three main locations:
- The Bind
- Ever After
- Mythopea
Each biome draws inspiration from various tales; Mythopea embraces themes from Hercules and Greek mythology, The Bind embodies dark academia, and Ever After showcases Scottish and fae elements.
Royal Tool: The Royal Net
In addition to new biomes, characters, and quests, players utilizing the expansion will gain access to an innovative Royal Tool: The Royal Net.
This net will facilitate the capture of Snippets, which are ancient origami creatures. Each Snippet comes with its distinct capturing method and varying rarity, particularly the ones scattered across the Valley.
Engaging Minigames & Trials
The Snippets provide an entertaining minigame experience within the expansion, and more fun awaits in the form of tapestry puzzles and trials.
Players will engage in puzzles by arranging tapestry pieces to create images, facilitating creative decor.
Additionally, players can look forward to new Trials featuring quests and puzzles inspired by beloved fairytales and myths, potentially serving as side missions amid the main storyline.
New Animal Companions, Recipes, & Items
The influx of content continues with the addition of new animals, resources, and recipes.
Players can expect to encounter Owls in The Bind, Mini Dragons in Ever After, and Mini Winged Horses in Mythopea. These animals will operate similarly to previous companions, each requiring specific foods and feeding approaches.
New Disney Dreamlight Valley Codes
Finally, three new codes have been introduced to Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- DDVSOCKS2024: Dreamlight Socks
