
The infamous chizza has been brought back by KFC, however it will only be available for a limited time.
In February, KFC introduced chizza to the US market, following a successful launch in countries such as China, Taiwan, and Germany. This unique dish features two pieces of fried chicken as the base, replacing traditional pizza dough, and is topped with melted cheese, marinara sauce, and pepperoni slices.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, one food blogger on TikTok noted that the chicken was soggy and the pepperoni was tasteless. However, the dish still gained popularity as people lined up down the street when KFC introduced a pop-up “Chizzeria”in New York City for one day in celebration of the dish.
If you’re eager to give KFC chizza another try, then you’ll need to start budgeting for a trip to the Philippines. The beloved dish has been re-introduced in the country with an added touch of flair. The new version features toppings such as pepperoni, pineapple, and green bell pepper. Additionally, the chain has even promoted a “secret menu”item, the double-decker chizza, on their Instagram.

KFC has become well-known for their “doubling”of unique chicken dishes, including the popular Double Down that was introduced in the US in March 2023. This dish replaced traditional burger buns with two fried chicken breasts and was filled with cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce. Recently, KFC has also released a new menu item called the chizza, which consists of four chicken breasts layered with marinara sauce and cheese.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, the chizza generated a significant amount of buzz in the US. With KFC frequently reintroducing it in other nations, it is likely that it will make a comeback in the United States in the near future.
