KFC Launches New Chicken Quesadilla to Compete with Taco Bell

KFC is expanding beyond its usual crispy chicken offerings and is currently experimenting with a brand new Chicken Quesadilla in an attempt to compete with Taco Bell.

The Chicken Quesadilla has been a consistent part of Taco Bell’s Mexican-inspired menu since the chain’s menu expansion in 2001. Initially introduced as a promotional item, it garnered such a strong following that it has since become a permanent fixture.

In the time since, Taco Bell has expanded in various ways, including the introduction of their own chicken strips in 2002, which were also made available internationally.

However, Taco Bell is not the sole fast food chain venturing into uncharted culinary territory. KFC has also joined in with the launch of its Chicken Quesadilla. This dish includes KFC’s renowned fried chicken, freshly shredded in-house, along with gravy, a melted three-cheese blend, and served toasted with the option of a dipping sauce or hot sauce.

KFC is also rivaling Wendy’s with its all-new Saucy nugget lineup

The latest addition to the menu is the quesadilla, which has a calorie count of 480 and will be priced at $4.49. Customers can also opt for the KFC Chicken Quesadilla Combo, which includes a side dish and a medium drink, for $8.49.

Regrettably, the Chicken Quesadilla is still in the testing phase and is currently only being offered in a few locations to assess its popularity. It can currently be found at select locations in Tennessee, New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, so if you live in any of these areas, make sure to contact your local KFC.

KFC is not only competing with Taco Bell this year, but the chain is also demonstrating its ability to rival Wendy’s.

In response to the highly anticipated release of Wendy’s Saucy Nuggets, KFC also launched their own version of nuggets.
