Bijan Tehrani, co-founder of KICK, has publicly responded to a recent hacking incident that compromised the streaming platform’s X account, leading to the promotion of a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme. This unfortunate occurrence highlights a growing trend where hackers target prominent content creators to exploit their social media platforms for scams.
In recent years, numerous popular creators on platforms like Twitch and YouTube have fallen victim to similar attacks. Hackers often seize control of these accounts, misleading fans with false pledges of free cryptocurrency, making grandiose claims about guaranteed profits. Notably, even high-profile personalities, such as X CEO Elon Musk, have been exploited in these incidents.
