Kick Provides $50k Reward to Woman After Streamer Abandons Dinner Date

<p>Kick announced a generous offer of $50,000 to a woman after an incident involving a streamer who dined with her but then fled when the bill arrived.

The streamer, who goes by the name Dumbdumbjeez on various platforms, was filmed receiving the meal tab from the restaurant’s staff, only to later claim that their wallet was left in their vehicle.

In a hasty move, Jeez stood up, assured the woman they would “be right back,” and swiftly exited the restaurant, heading straight to a nearby taxi while abandoning her.

“This unfortunate and now suspended streamer pulled this stunt while attempting to compete for a $50,000 reward,” remarked Kick co-founder Bijan Tehrani on X/Twitter in reaction to the viral clip. He added, “I’m disheartened this occurred on Kick, and we are ready to give $50k to this lady if someone can put us in touch with her.”

In a video that has garnered significant attention, Dumbdumbjeez explained that their stream was part of the initial phase of Sam Pepper’s challenge, which required participants to go on dates with strangers.

Dumbdumbjeez discussed being banned from Kick for three days due to the incident, asserting that the woman involved was aware of the entire setup beforehand.

“I orchestrated the whole thing,” he claimed. “Before the stream, I spoke with the woman, whose name is Mabel. We planned our actions together. I even gave her the money in advance. Mabel is perfectly fine, trust me. It was all scripted.”

He went on to explain that he didn’t initially intend to reveal the scripted nature of the stream until after he had a chance to win the competition, wary that Sam would disqualify him if he discovered the truth.

“Ultimately, it backfired on me,” he conceded.

Public reactions to Jeez’s explanation were largely negative. One user remarked that if his story was true, it still implied an admission of dishonesty and clip exploitation.

“Consider reassessing your content,” advised another user. “Even if the scenario was scripted, it suggests that you think this situation is amusing, which isn’t the case for many viewers.”
