Kick streamer accuses “bored” staff of banning and harassing her

Twitch streamer Malek_04 claims that Kick staff banned her following her confrontation with them for repeatedly harassing her during her live streams.

On April 28, Malek_04 was live streaming Uno on both Kick and Twitch under the ‘Just Chatting’ category. During the stream, she received a chat message from a member of the Kick staff.

According to the Kick Team account, Malek was live streaming in an incorrect category and was advised to update it.

“Hello there! We kindly request that you remain in the appropriate category that aligns with your content. Thank you in advance!”wrote the Kick staff member.

Despite appearing to be a straightforward request, the streamer has a track record of getting into arguments with staff regarding categories. She has experienced instances where her category was changed without prior notice.

Despite making her argument and standing by her decision to stream in the Just Chatting category, Malek received a platform ban. However, she continued her live broadcast on Twitch.

Despite making light of the situation during her stream, she was displeased with the ban and publicly expressed her frustration on X, where she accused Kick staff of harassing her.

“She criticized the staff member who was on the night shift, calling their behavior extremely unprofessional and the worst she has ever experienced.”

“I am exhausted from constantly streaming on Kick and dealing with the harassment from bored staff members who constantly change my category. Not only do they change it, but they also fail to do so correctly.”

Malek stated that during a previous broadcast, she was streaming Rumble Club in the Just Chatting category when the Kick staff repeatedly changed the game to Fall Guys.

The streamer shared a screenshot on Twitter of an email she received from Kick in 2023, confirming that her content was appropriate for the Just Chatting category due to gameplay only occupying 25% of the screen.

Fortunately for Malek, she was quickly reinstated after being banned, but she still insisted on receiving an apology from Kick.

This is not the initial instance in which Kick staff members have faced accusations of harassing a streamer. In 2023, TheDanDangler referred to Kick as the “most sexist site”she had encountered, as she claimed that male streamers were being given preferential treatment.
