The film Love in the Big City, presented in the TIFF Special Presentations section, follows the journey of Jae-hee (portrayed by Kim Go-eun), a free spirit who embraces life without constraints, and Heung-soo (played by Steve Sanghyun Noh), who has mastered the art of emotional detachment. Together, they explore their unique love story while cohabitating. This film is adapted from the episode “Jae-hee” in the novel of the same title by Park Sang-young, which achieved recognition as a Booker Prize finalist. In this narrative, Kim Go-eun’s character transitions from a carefree college student to an adult facing more serious life issues.
