A Landmark Achievement: 900 Episodes of “Radio Star”

Since its debut in 2007, “Radio Star” has established itself as a beloved fixture of Wednesday night television, captivating audiences for nearly two decades. Upon reaching its 900th episode, it has now set a record as the longest-running talk show on terrestrial television, surprising fans and critics alike.

The Hat Incident and Guest Response

The controversy stemmed from the January 15 episode where Goo Hye-sun wore a hat against the advice of the program’s main producer. Production Team’s Clarification

Addressing the issue, PD Kim Myung-yeop explained, “To clarify, it was not a controversy at all. One of our responsibilities is to ensure our guests are comfortable. On that day, we simply asked, ‘Are you okay? Would you like to take off your hat?’ and decided not to edit it out.”He further elaborated that Goo Hye-sun arrived early, communicated effectively, and performed well during the taping, indicating that there was no actual problem on set.

Kim emphasized, “There was absolutely no problem. We didn’t mention it to avoid making it a bigger issue,” subtly addressing the media hype surrounding the matter.

A Veteran’s Perspective

In his comments, Kim Gura remarked, “On real variety shows, no one overly prepares. People come as they are, including in their attire. She likely wore the hat for a reason that was personal.”He expressed remorse that what was meant to be an enjoyable appearance turned into a negative conversation for everyone involved, particularly for Goo Hye-sun, who he described as capable of handling such situations with grace but still likely feeling upset by the incident.
